Yes, good point...I probably didn't ask my question very well. Kingo is indeed the one appearing in each of those movies and pretending to be his ancestors...but I was just surprised he would be pretending to be his great-great-grandfather in a movie that was out only 50 years ago. It seems to imply each "ancestor" was only in the movie business for a decade or so. Hope that makes more sense. Sorry for not explaining my question better in the vid!

I just have to get my theory off my chest, I feel very confident about this too: I think Victor Timely is the same variant as He Who Remains. I think the device he shows off at the World's Fair is an early prototype of the Temporal Loom. We need HWR aura to open the doors and repair the loom, and since we know Ravonna was close to him, and we now know which timeline she's in, Loki and Mobius retrieve Timely and bring him to the TVA; because his temporal aura IS HWR's as well. Also remember Loki says "It's him." It's not just a version of him, it is him.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great theory! Yeah, I'm leaning that way as well. I think personality wise, both Timely and HWR seem pretty similar. So with the points you mention added in, there seem to be lots of clues linking the two of them. Hopefully we get closer to the answer in the next episode. Just a few days to wait!

It’s still quite weird that they said it’s gonna be a catastrophe if the nexus event branches past red line in s1 and now we find out that it’s so easy to just cut all the variant timelines (they didn’t say it’s all of them but it didn’t look like there was any left on the screen)
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Agreed...I think that falls into the long list of lies we were told about the TVA back in S1 E1 by Miss Minutes. Clearly they can bomb a timeline after it has reached the redline. However, I think there are two reasons they feared it going past redline. First, it was much easier to reset a nexus event, as you just go in, grab the variant that caused the issue, and reset the impacted area. In other words, no new timeline has formed yet, it's just a small area of time the was impacted. So the effort is much less. But more importantly, I think that when it reaches red line, it is a fully formed timeline and thus you have to bomb it, killing billions of people. And even worse, you run the risk that since all points of time exist at once, it means a new Kang could now exist in the 31st century and he would be inside of the loom and thus could immediately cause trouble on the sacred timeline. Anyway, those are my assumptions. I could be wrong, but it seems to fit with the overall model they are presenting to us. Great feedback as always. Love all your comments!

Honestly, after watching season 1 recently and following with S2E2, i am most intrigued by Mobius' story than anyone else's. To me, he feels like the biggest mystery yet. I might be wrong and we find out next that he was just an ordinary Jet Ski enthusiast who somehow sold or sailed the wrong Jet Ski to the wrong shore and ended up in the TVA but I feel there might be more to him.

Brad Wolfe was on the sacred timeline, not a branch timeline according to the time cards that we saw. The whole reason that X5 went there was to avoid being on a timeline that he knew was going to be bombed. When they were interrogating him, he was extremely preachy about why it was crazy that Mobius did not want to find himself on the timeline. I think it is pretty safe to say that X5 was a famous actor named Brad Wolfe before he was at the TVA
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Right...I think Brad / X-5 was on the main sacred timeline as well. However, I do think you can create a branch off of the sacred timeline that doesn't register as a nexus event, as long as it doesn't result in a Kang. So that's the only way he could be on a branch but still be considered part of the main timeline, since the sacred timeline is many branches woven together. However, I think that's waaaaaay too confusing of an answer, so yeah, I think he managed to go to the sacred timeline and not branch it in the process. However, I'm still confused what happened to the Brad Wolfe from the sacred timeline. If X-5 is a variant created by a nexus event on the sacred timeline involving Brad Wolfe, how does X-5 then return to the sacred timeline when Brad Wolfe would still be there? That is very confusing to me at this point.
@SeanWheeler100 Жыл бұрын
Or maybe X5 could be the real Brad Wolfe from the Sacred Timeline? Maybe the TVA could have recruited a few people from the Sacred Timeline and X-5 was one of those people, and he went back to resume his life at the same time that the TVA kidnapped him so that he was never gone? I mean, if Loki's arrest was actually supposed to happen according to He Who Remains' plan, maybe Brad's arrest was also because He Who Remains needed him in the TVA and not because he was a variant? We can't even trust the old regime of the TVA when it's built on lies. Maybe there could be something even more shady going on with the way the TVA kidnapped the agents? What if the agents weren't variants from branched timelines but people from the Sacred Timeline that He Who Remains found useful?

I think both theorys about X5's/Brad's life on the sacred timeline are valid, but i prefer the first one. The main reason i think so is the way he always talks about the big twist the TVA is experiencing right now. In his mind "it changes everything". He asks Mobius all these questions about his life on the sacred timeline and why he doesn't want to know about it. And he seems very passionate about it. Maybe all his emotions in that scene are fake and he's just a good actor trying to mess with Mobius. But maybe he meant what he said and assumes Mobius wants to know about his real life because Brad himself desperately wanted to know about his life and to live it. I think he either killed his variant or pulled a Miguel (O'Hara) and stepped in when his variant died.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great theories...yes, you are right...X-5 was very intent on knowing what his life was and also pushed Mobius about it, so it does stand to reason that Sylvie told X-5 about it and he went to live it by replacing the non-variant Brad. Can't wait to see where things go from here!

This episode had my jaw dropping with that finale, I mean thats so much death and destruction. We've seen the pain that just wiping out 50% of a universe can cause, we've seen someone accidentally wipe out their entire universe because they just wanted to be with the one they love, now we get that, double the horror of a thanos snap PER TIMELINE, and they wiped out 30% of all the timeline branches. Unless I'm mistaken this is the most death we've ever seen in the mcu and by a long shot. I was really surprised they did that. Also your discussion with Miss Minutes and the nexus events and how that works really had me interested, I think that might be what they were trying to convey in that Butterfly Effect video. Maybe you can undo a nexus event and return it back to the sacred timeline if you can fix it before the nexus event causes the timeline to redline. But this still leaves open the question of why were they pruning timelines before they red line in season 1? That could totally destroy this theory but I find it interesting. Really loving this show but I can't lie if I have to nitpick it seems like it has a little too much going on and it's stretched a little thin. Dox for example has had only one scene and now she's responsible for the most kills in the mcu? It could still be fixed with more screentime later and I totally think they can pull it off but it's kinda scaring me, Brad/X-5 was also just kinda forced into being a main character this episode and we got less of B-15. It kinda seems like they have a little too much going on and not enough screen time. Still think it can turn around and it's still pretty great but it is making me worry a little. Also I agree I NEED that TVA Guidebook lol please marvel release it

He knows not..and pretends to care not. So I assume X-5 would not remember his past life either? Just speculation. I’m guessing he went to the timeline, and just started living his best life!
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Great theories on X-5...yeah, it really feels like he just went and lived whatever life he wanted, which would explain the "meteoric" rise of Brad Wolfe, as there was no Brad Wolfe in the first place. The only reason I wondered if he might have found out what his original life was, is that Sylvie enchanted B-15 and C-20 to show them the buried memories of their past lives in the sacred timeline, so perhaps he asked Sylvie to do the same for him. But it kinda feels like he found where Sylvie is, but didn't approach her, as she still felt safe there, meaning he probably didn't let her know that he found her. Anyway, I think your theory is spot on and I'm also really curious to see what Mobius eventually discovers about his original life. I agree, that is a major plot point for the season. Great breakdown as always! Couple questions/takeaways: don’t alternate universes have their own big bangs? I know in real-world multiverse theory that quantum fluctuations at the Big Bang of each universe leads to different laws of physics, so I was thinking that each universe is its own big bang contained within its own black hole, like how in S1 episode 6 it showed the black holes next to each other, but then each universe can have infinite branches. I feel like there’s so much conflicting things about the sacred timeline like how the monitor labeled each branch 616.whatever. So was only the 616 universe’s branches bombed? Because isn’t the sacred timeline also composed of other universes not just 616?
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Good questions. On your last point first, I don't think Dox was bombing the multiverse, but rather she was bombing the branches on the sacred 616 timeline. I think HWR isolated the 616 timeline from the rest of the multiverse and as long as the loom is working, then we are just dealing with 616 and its branched timelines. As for your first question, I have held on for a long time to the idea that all universes originated from a single big bang, but honestly, I think this episode solidified that each universe has its own big bang and that's what distinguishes a universe from a timeline. I think the reason I thought there was just one big bang for the multiverse is that the Watcher made it sound like the "new realities" being created were new universes. But I wonder if they were actually new timelines off of the same universe instead. Really hope they explain all of this at some point, but I do think the answers above are as close as we can get at this for now. Let me know your thoughts. And thx as always for the excellent feedback!

@@AbitofEverything4U So is the sacred timeline supposed to only be timeline branches of the 616 universe? Because then I’m confused how there can be alligator Loki or Loki’s who look different. Those would be totally other universe’s Loki’s wouldn’t they? I figured the sacred timeline contained other universes as long as they don’t lead to a Kang. So Alligator Loki’s universe would be one of the realities in the Sacred Timeline, Boastful Loki’s, etc. Since they look different that’d be a whole other universe, not just a different timeline right? But then with this last episode, when the sacred timeline was bombed, it only showed branches of the 616 universe affected so it makes it seem as it’s only the 616 universe and it’s variant timelines that are contained in the Sacred Timeline.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
So, you may have seen my newest vid after leaving your question, but I tried to address your excellent question there about whether those branches were universes or not. I think that they are saying that branched timelines don't eventually become universes. Instead, those are just branches off the 616 timeline. Therefore, we aren't seeing multiple universes in the sacred timeline loom, but just multiple branches off the 616 sacred timeline. As for how Loki can have such unique variants, I think they have been portraying him as a chaos being. If you look at how Mobius described all the variants in S1 E2, he made it sounds like Lokis are capable of being very unique in their variants. I think I may do a vid on this specific topic, as you aren't the first to ask about it.

I'm still fuzzy on how the temporal loom refines raw time together (presumably from empty space?) and is also a flat circle. We see the loom, and we have seen the circle... Did I miss something fundamental here?
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
My theory is that the void is the end of the circle, where all of existence ends, but is then converted into raw time by Alioth and sent back into the loom once again to start all over. So using scientific terms for the beginning and end of the universe for HWR's circle of time, Alioth is the big crunch which destroys everything and the loom is the big bang that starts it all over again. All just a theory at this point, though. Hopefully we get a firm answer by season's end!

i have heard that there is a sacred timeline for each universe so every universe has its own sacred timeline and they are parallel to each other but if any other decision is made, it creates branched timeline and if there are many branched timelines they will intersect to each other create disturbance. And also there are different TVA of every universe and council of kangs is not of different timelines but of different universe if the 616 branches then its branches can connect to the universes other than 616 which the 3 kangs sees through their window in the ep 6 of s1, kang says that he isolated 616 which means separated from rest of the universes (838 etc.)

I think all of those theories make sense. I'd be down for them to head that direction. I still do wonder, however, how we got separate universes, if everything came from the same big bang. Maybe each universe had it's own big bang? I hope they do explain that point for us, but otherwise, everything you said works perfectly. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the episode. I saw that some people think general dox is a future version of Sylvie and that x5 is loki and Sylvie's son which would somehow explain why they touched heads in episode 1 which i honestly don't believe that at all. When I saw that I was like I dont think so because if that's true and x5 is Loki's son Loki just tortured his own son which is kind of messed up, so I don't think that theory is true. I don't think that general dox is an older sylvie because dox just pruned branches and innocent lives which is the total opposite of what Sylvie wanted. So I just don't think that general dox is an older sylvie. That's just my personal opinion. Loki really cares about and loves Sylvie he didn’t want her to leave.😭 The renunion of Loki and Sylvie wasn’t the renuinion I thought would happen, but okay. I thought that man in white was a manikin or something cause he didn't move and seemed emotionless.

Yeah, I'm with you...I don't think Dox is an older Sylvie and I don't think X-5 is Loki and Sylvie's son. I could imagine X-5 being Dox's son, but I don't think Dox is Sylvie. I'm hoping Loki and Sylvie do get back together by the end, but I agree, it won't be right away at this point. And yeah, that dude it white was so strange. He could indeed be a manikin, considering how little he moved!

I know this has probably been answered, but where does Sylvie come from. Like, how is there a female Loki, and an alligator Loki, and all of the other Loki's? Are they from another universe, or from a branch? Also, I can't wait to see what Mobius' life was like before the TVA, I really want them to dive deep into his character.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Good question on Sylvia/Alligator Loki/Old Loki, etc. I assume they had to originate from 616, as they must have been pruned from a branch that came from the 616 timeline or they wouldn't be in the void that is part of the sacred timeline. So I'm guessing that a branch formed earlier enough in the 616 timeline that the enough differences existed over time to result in a female Loki, alligator Loki, and so on. But that's just my guess. Oh, and yeah, will be fun to see what Mobius' life was like on the sacred timeline. Some are guessing we are seeing a younger Mobius in those scenes with Sylvie, but that seems abit out there for me. But it will indeed be fun when we do get some confirmation of what his life was like.

I think the Kingo poster was just an old poster in Loki that was up on the theater as set dressing, so to speak, to make it feel more like a theater. It wasn't advertising a new movie but rather a classic movie, maybe one that premiered at this theater. If X-5 is a variant of Brad Wolfe, I would think that Brad was just a relatively unknown actor who suddenly became very famous and then mysteriously disappeared after the Zaniac premiere in 1977. X-5 killed or pruned the original Brad and then lived out the rest of Brad's life in a way that matched, as far as time is concerned, the real Brad's life, up to and including his disappearance at the Zaniac premiere. But I honestly think it's more likely that he just made up the Brad Wolfe character, and he had always time traveled to some years before 1977, made up the Brad Wolfe character, and lived out his life there until 1977, which is why it's all a part of the Sacred Timeline. He didn't alter history; he just (probably unknowingly) fulfilled it. That fits with the time travel rules established in Endgame and reinforced in Loki, Agents of SHIELD, and Ms. Marvel. I completely agree with you on Marvel really needing to explain how universes become their own things if they all originate from the same origin point. Right now the only thing that kind of makes sense to me is that the Infinity Stone Big Bang just created a bunch of unconnected universes, but that doesn't explain why both 616 and 838 have their own sets of Infinity Stones. So it's not a clean explanation by any means, and I hope we get something in the future that will make the explanation cleaner.

Excellent feedback! Yeah, I think I also prefer that X-5 created the Brad Wolfe character himself. I think that fits with his personality to do something like that and it works better in the overall storyline. And good call on the Kingo poster. I'd prefer to think of it as an older poster, as that works better in the chronology for his movies. As for universes and timelines, I may have an idea brewing on that...more to follow on that soon. But yeah, it has been really confusing, tbh!

Loki is one of the few shows that Marvel could keep going forever as basically their Doctor Who. I expect we will see Thor and Loki meet in either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars but afterwards just keep the characters around in their own arc. On the other hand if they want to connect it closely to the other characters, they could have Loki take over the role that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tried to do but failed due lack of interest from the film side, which is serve as the background for the MCU and since Loki is outside of time, it would make more sense for the others to not know about his contributions then it did with Phil Coulson, a man who the original Avengers saw as a friend

I find it odd that Mobius doesn't want to know where he came from, since, right before he was pruned in S1, he said to Ravonna, "You know where I'd go, if I could go anywhere? Wherever it is I'm really from. Heh, maybe I had a Jetski." Now he's afraid to know. It's not that big a deal, I'm just confused. Also, I can't quite wrap my head around why Sylvie is mad at Loki, beyond trying to stop her. I thought after the way they parted, that she was more sad at losing him than angry. Maybe it's a defense mechanism, just closing off from him. Anyway, I thought it interesting that she jumped at the suggestion that her branch was threatened. She immediately went to "Tell me what you know!" , but mentally. So if she comes to think the TVA needs her help saving everything, & her new life is still in danger, I can see that being her motivation to leave home for now. And I like Loki & Mobius working together to make Brad think he's really in danger. A (seemingly) vengeful guy that (seemingly) doesn't know how to work a torture device can unnerve almost anyone, and they built up to it perfectly, chipping away at his assurance.

Yes, good point about B15 and Mobius watching that uncontrolled branching in the past and how the reason for that has yet to be explained. I think your theory could make alot of sense on that and it would be wild if they actually died. I do think that in the present time period, it was Mobius and B15 authorizing the branches to no longer be pruned that resulted in the branching we saw in Season 1, Episode 6. And that's why HWR didn't know what would happen next. He never had a situation where the TVA basically quit doing their job like that. So the future at that point was unknown to him. Initially I thought X-5 simply went to some random time on the sacred timeline and just started living the life he wanted, but it didn't really occur to me to question how that would even be possible. I agree that this is something that will soon be revealed, so it's best kept a mystery for now, but it's a pretty interesting thing to ponder. I think an equally important question here is, WHY did he specifically go to the sacred timeline to live his chosen life? If all he wanted to do was just live some random new life, he could've just done that on a branched timeline, like Sylvie did. Maybe there was something about the sacred timeline's Brad Wolfe that somehow allowed him to slip into that life, with the help of the modified tempad. Or is it just because he knew that the TVA was going to bomb all the branches? But if he knew that, and if he'd had contact with Sylvie, why didn't Sylvie know that her branch was going to be bombed? I think we still need to see just what happened between X-5 and Sylvie, because he obviously knew where to find her, but for some reason refused to tell Mobius and Loki, it took Loki threatening to crush him in a weird box for X-5 to give up Sylvie's location, and he was afraid of encountering Sylvie again. I highly suspect that he wasn't just afraid of Sylvie because she had killed a bunch of TVA agents, but because Sylvie was about to learn about something he'd done, like he'd betrayed her in some way. Hopefully we'll find out soon. Anyway, great video, as always! I loved seeing all the easter eggs pointed out that I totally wouldn't have noticed otherwise!

The idea of the Sacred Timeline is that the Braches are all weaved together by the Loom, so I would guess X-5 simply eliminated Brad Wolfe and took his place, causing a minor divergence similar to Sylvie being born a girl and Classic Loki surviving Thanos and living on an isolated planet, what we saw here is the visual proof that a "significant change" needs to happen in order for a Branch to form outside of the "sacred path". Leaving that out, I was surprised they DID labeled the Branches using the "BRANCH 616.****.*****" code, I theorized something like that on a previous video of yours, I'm so happy they finally did it to differenciate Timelines from Universes. I know you use the "They all have the same origin point", but my guess is that simply, the Multiverse originates by a series of different Big Bangs happening all at once.

So when loki gets to the elevator , he knows sylvie isnt there this time so hes gonna pick up the phone instead to hear kang tell him to dodge to see that morbius was the one who pruned loki - not to save his own skin from ripping but to keep loki from figuring out that morbious is the illusion . Morbious is living his life - he was never taken - he is on the ski, the one who took his "variant" look was a variant himself - Kang the conqueror.

Overall, I liked the episode! Not as much as the first one, but still really enjoyable. I do agree with what you said of it having an Interesting pace, and like you said, it felt like we missed something. Even as a die-hard MCU fan, I found myself a bit confused at the beginning, but I eventually got it. I feel like there could be a bunch of explanations for Kingo's film being there in the 70s. It could be that it's a rescreening of the film, it could be what you said about low life expectancies, or it could even be that because it's a Bollywood film, it took longer to reach mainstream Hollywood audiences. Especially in the 70s, I feel like that explanation could work. I did love the Phone Ranger reference, even if I missed it while watching the episode. I feel like they referenced him because he's one of those Marvel characters who's memed a lot and has never gotten a reference or easter egg (unlike some of the ridiculous Marvel Comics characters, who have been referenced, usually in the Guardians films). Relating to X-5, if he assumed this new persona (created it from scratch, no Brad Wolfe before him), that would mean the original version of himself from the sacred timeline (be it that his name is or isn't Brad Wolfe, he still exists), and since X-5 turned himself into a world famous actor, I'd like to think the original one from the Sacred Timeline probably saw this rising star and thought :"Hm, this kinda looks like me", so I think he must've either killed his original self or taken over his body, which... both are kinda disturbing. I also loved the TVA stuff from this episode. Loved O.B. and Casey's bromance, and O.B. is a one-liner machine. One detail I liked is that the pie room they ate at serves only pie. Literally walls and walls of pie. Makes me wonder if they have other rooms for different food. And Mobius was also amazing. Can't wait for it to be revealed that on the sacred timeline, he was actually a JetSki salesman. Or imagine if he's actually the inventor of the JetSki, that'd be crazy. Finally, the guy in white was strange, I don't know what that's about. Will it tie into the future? Who knows? But I'm excited for episode 3, I think this might be the one where we get to see our first Kang variant in the form of Victor Timely, and I frankly can't wait.

Great feedback on the episode and the vid. I think your Kingo suggestion that the movie took awhile to come to the UK makes alot of sense. Nice call. I'm equally torn on what makes the most sense for X-5 returning to the sacred timeline, but no matter what the answer is, it does sound like something morbid happened to his non-variant self. OB rocks and I can't wait to see Timely appearing. Such a great series...anxiously awaiting the next episode!

24:15 - The sacred timeline becoming exposed to the rest of the Multiverse… you mean like Tobey, Andrew and Tom (Hardy)’s universes? 😉 I agree with the concept that Loki is the first post-Endgame project chronologically and Phase 4-5 happen after it.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Boy, isn't that the big question...I still don't know what to think about Tobey, Andrew and Venom's universes. I could see them being offshoot branches of 616 and thus they have always been in the sacred timeline but when the loom quit working it caused chaos and started pulling things from other branches. But I could also imagine they are unique universes and the loom shutting down allowed the incursions we saw in No Way Home. Hopefully they will start assigning numbers to each universe and then we'll know for sure. Either way, I think you are 100% correct that the end result of Loki Season 2 will be the rest of Phases 4-6. Can't wait to see where things go from here!

Kind of a wild theory that there is no way to prove at this point, we'll just find out if I'm right or wrong, but I feel like we've already met Mobius on the timeline. There is just something about the mannerisms and speech patterns of that Jack kid working at McDonald's that really reminds me of Mobius and I really have to wonder if that's him at a younger age.

The name “Jack” means Supplanter. Interesting stuff in the names of the characters. Bradley (open meadow, or open minded, fair, wants both sides before making a decision, sounds a lot like Mobius. Wolf or Fenris. Mobius is the symbol on the ground of the TVA that the monitor hit. It’s 180 degree object with a flat side. As an abstract topological space, the Möbius strip can be embedded into three-dimensional Euclidean space in many different ways: a clockwise half-twist is different from a counterclockwise half-twist, and it can also be embedded with odd numbers of twists greater than one, or with a knotted centerline. Any two embeddings with the same knot for the centerline and the same number and direction of twists are topologically equivalent. All of these embeddings have only one side, but when embedded in other spaces, the Möbius strip may have two sides. It has only a single boundary curve. Ouruborus is the ⭕️ of infinity. Which is tied to one of Loki’s children too. Any of the variants could have had kids.

The exact nature of “the threshold” is still a mystery to me, but I personally can’t see B-15 and Mobius’s order to stop pruning as being the event itself. I’m fairly sure that order came _after_ the branches started going crazy, right before the scene of them watching the chronomonitor, which they cut to straight from Sylvie killing HWR, way after the threshold happens. Their lines about “no turning back” are in reference to that order yes, but if the order was “the threshold” event itself, wouldn’t that imply HWR specifically scripted that for them, being such a critical event? (Side note, I think it’s quite likely HWR doesn’t script literally every word and action of trillions of beings across all of time, but certainly the important events he wants/needs to happen.) Which I suppose is possible, or it could be an off-script/Nexus event, but I think it’s far more likely he just scripted a dramatic thunderclap to signal the end of his script. Depending on how far “in advance” (whatever that means in non-linear time) he scripts things, he may not remember the last thing he wrote for himself or Loki/Sylvie to say, so the thunderclap may also serve as an auditory cue/reminder for himself. What’s not clear to me is why the script ending would cause the timeline to immediately branch like crazy. I suppose the implication is that the lack of a script gave free will and an infinitude of decisions could now be freely made. But the very existence of Nexus events and variants means going “off-script” was always possible. So did that just happen (causing branches) far less frequently with the script present? What controlled the probability of being able to go off-script? Or is this related to my idea that HWR doesn’t actually script everything, and that that part of Ms Minutes’s video was also propaganda? I think seeing what caused the crazy branching in the past TVA could shed a lot of light. Perhaps it was just a random spike? But the line “does he want us to just let them all branch?” suggests whichever Kang was openly in charge of the TVA at the time had something to do with that event, perhaps even causing it. Maybe he was incapacitated in some way and temporarily couldn’t write the script, nor give orders on what to do.
@rubixmann Жыл бұрын
By this logic, the death of HWR only “caused” the crazy branching insofar as he could no longer write more of the script for things still unscripted. But he didn’t _have_ to die, he could’ve also just decided to stop writing, which he technically did do for the very last bit including Loki and Sylvie’s fight.

Regarding the modifications to X-5’s TemPad, my interpretation by the end of the episode was that it was just the necessary hacks needed to pull off Gen. Dox’s prune-bombing plan, which seems to involve using (presumably many) modified TemPads, and X-5 just made off (to be Brad) with his after it was already modified. I couldn’t tell for sure if she was using/controlling multiple from her control panel, but I would assume so. I did just rewatch the part in S1E2 where Sylvie pulls off her grand reverse-bombing plan, and it’s true she only needed one modified/rigged TemPad, presumably the one she originally stole. But Dox’s plan seems to be on a far larger scale judging by how many troops she took in E1 and the sheer number of branches she needed to prune compared to how many Sylvie caused. Or Sylvie is just smarter, which would make Loki’s struggling look even worse haha. I was honestly rather disappointed they immediately took the TemPad from Casey, never giving him a chance to look at it. I was expecting him to figure out what the modifications did and for *him* (not X-5) to be the one warning them of Dox’s impending attack. But alas, hopefully they didn’t go with that only because they’re saving Casey’s moment to shine with his tech knowledge for an even more critical moment!
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
Lots of great feedback. Thanks for taking the time to write it all out. As for the threshold, my guess is HWR scripted things to the point where the TVA gave the order to stop pruning. I think he knew Mobius would return and would give that order, along with B-15. So I still think that was the threshold and that once they stopped pruning, he didn't know what would happen next. We probably can't trust the timing of the cuts in S1 E6, as they intentionally fooled us with how we thought Loki went to an alternate TVA. But I do think they cleared up the threshold with the knowledge that Mobius and B-15 gave the order for the pruning to stop. But just my 2 cents. We'll have to see if they give us a more firm answer as the series progresses. I think the crazy branching was less about HWR death, and more about the fact that no one was running the TVA and in fact the TVA had stopped doing it's job (i.e. pruning) and so things were going nuts, which of course hosed the loom in Season 2. Interesting theories on X-5's tempad. I don't know what to think about that, but I agree with you that I hope Casey is allowed to figure it out, as I suspect it's something important. Again, many thanks for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Love reading what fellow fans are thinking about the series so far!
@rubixmann Жыл бұрын
Unrelated to this episode but following on from my comment on the 10 TVA lies video, I also thought of another reference point that could help us figure out the chronology (or at least check the consistency) of TVA’s internal timeline: Sylvie herself. We know she was arrested as a child, aged around say 10 in Asgardian/Frost Giant years (Thor and Loki are shown to grow up at about the same rate). According to MCU wiki, Loki was born in 965 AD, and we can assume she was too. That makes her and Loki a bit over 1,000 human years old in the series, which equals about 40 Asgardian years, based on Tom and Sophia’s real-life ages. Based on Loki’s line “give or take 5,000 years” in Thor 2, in response to Odin reminding him and Thor that they’re not immortal, Asgardians (the royals at least) live about 5,000 years on average, so being 1,000 years old makes sense. We have to assume regular Earth years are the years meant by OB/Mobius/TVA dating system, otherwise nothing makes sense. Using simple proportions, if Sylvie has been running from and evading the TVA for 40-10=30 Asgardian years, that would be about 750 human/regular/TVA years! Even though it’s an unfathomable (for us puny humans) amount to time to spend hiding (thinking of it as 30 years is easier but still awful), the arrest being 750 years ago does check out for me. We know Renslayer was a Hunter then, so there was probably at least one “reset” before the ~400-years-ago scene when Mobius and B-15 have their current positions, and presumably Renslayer was also a judge. And there must've been another reset that replaced Kang with the fake Time Keepers before our present era. I do have to wonder, why was Renslayer ever a Hunter at all, if we know from the tape that HWR/Kang wanted them to lead together. MCU Wiki page on Asgardians does mention “Asgardians age as humans do for the first 20-or-so years of their lives. Upon reaching early adulthood, they begin to age much more slowly.” But I don’t see any reference for that claim, and I personally feel that makes much less sense than if they always age proportionally more slowly, and live proportionally longer (5,000 human years would be like 200 Asgardian years) because of better resiliency to disease and injury. If we assume that, Sylvie would be running for basically 1,000 years, potentially contradicting the margarita memory, so I like my timeline better.
@AbitofEverything4U Жыл бұрын
I think that makes alot of sense. I could imagine her running all that time and it helps further explain her hatred of the TVA. Great analysis!
