Not gonna lie, when the first time I saw those stones, I thought it was just regular rubies or jewelries that you usually seen at jewelry stores because that looks fake. All this time we see the Infinity Stones in MCU, we see it as the big deal but in TVA, they just regular stones. Even you see Loki played The Tesseract like a regular box. Can you imagine if Thanos in TVA, he just be like a regular Titan and he will not take it seriously by The TVA people even no one respect Loki as well as the God of Mischief, they just treat him like a regular guy.
@ianblackburn75
@ianblackburn75 3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people doing reviews of this show seem to be missing the fact that the TVA is deleting the variant timelines. Jeremy, they don't have to take the tesseract back, they already deleted his timeline. Thats what the device they leave behind does. They literally show it in the animation explaning everything at the start. Those infinity stones are from dead multiverses. Thus paper weights.

I think the “showing Loki his timeline” was a clever way of bringing his character up to speed with how we know him. Avengers 1 Loki is fine and all that, but we have grown to love him more through his mother’s death, Ragnarok, and Infinity War. The character development we have watched had to be recreated somehow so that he was closer to that Loki than 2012 Loki.

nah, its entertaining as you re familar with consistency but didnt the avengers cause so much damage to the timeline. Nebula killing her past self. Technically isnt gamora a variant? Why didnt the time people intevene when nebula or thanos went to somewhere they shouldnt of been? It applies to all of em. It contradicts their rules. Nothing really seems deeply smart. Also the time court system is dumb again because Loki had no intent to break the time stream, as tony himself, broke it by messing up, accidently. Didnt thanos have that intent, wtf? But apparently, its meant to be. How do they come to that conclusion? I’m sure it will be at an important scene. Disney knows enough about fan service to not waste that opportunity, plus Loki (the show) seems to be pretty meta. Like the time keepers are an allegory for Fiege and the MCU, and Loki existing to cause suffering to make others better is basically a nod how Loki functions as a fictional character in the MCU. They tested the waters of meta-commentary with WandaVision and I think they’ll increase the momentum with Loki as they build toward multiverse of madness.

It's not canon anymore because it's too complicated to tie in a 7 seasons TV series, plus it was before Disney created Disney+ and shows like Daredevil and Punisher were also a thing of their own. The Inhumans was supposed to be tied in with Agents of Shields, but then Disney also reacquired Fox, so X-Men is on the menu again. Ironically, it's kinda like this episode, they are resetting their own timeline to reunify all their IPs (intellectual properties).

The scene where he’s watching the events of his life was great because it was the first time we’ve ever seen the character of Loki ever express sadness, all the other times where something tragic has happened to him he’s always been able to still maintain a cool head but this was the first time something truly got to him, and I think that’s gonna be a major part of this show, us finally getting to see the emotional vulnerability of Loki

Yeah that scene was really the scene that made the show super intriguing. It definitely draws you in to wanting to explore more of what is going on. @dadsleftfoot
@dadsleftfoot 3 жыл бұрын
@@flashfreak62 my thoughts behind my comment mostly alluded to the whole idea of Loki escaping. His escape changed the course of the Avengers time heist entirely. Since he escaped with the Tesseract, they had to go back further to get the space stone. So technically with the TVA stepping in, everything that happened in Endgame after his escape is invalidated. With Strange saying that this was the one future that they win, that means that they only win in the timeline where Loki escapes during the time heist. If the TVA stop that then technically that’s a different future. Therefore, according the Infinity War and Endgame, the only future that they can win the battle with Thanos is the future that the TVA inevitably erases because it doesn’t follow the main time line. It’d be an easy excuse to say that Stramge just didn’t see that future but surely he would’ve checked to see if there was a future where the can beat Thanos without Loki escaping. Especially if he checked nearly 14 million possible futures

The thing I love about this show is that the show's premise is an allegory for when a character hijacks the storytelling process from the writer or storyteller. By being true to his/her true nature, a character can sometimes dictate the direction that the plot goes which may be different than the writer's original plan. In the case of the multiverse, this is referring to when in comics or other mythology, versions of stories are told so many times in so many contexts that they form alternate histories or realities for the characters living in these story worlds. When you bring things like time travel into a story like Endgame, all of the character and plot rules apply to whenever the time jump travels. The TVA is essentially the guardians of the story or "the sacred timeline", or potentially the team of creatives and other workers responsible for carrying a show or movie franchise forward. What happens when one of these characters escapes the pages of the story and enters the world of the storytellers? What happens when a character gains new agency through sentience? And what happens when that character is the god of mischief? The animated clip from the first episode also serves as a fantastic multi-layered meta-commentary on how overlapping and conflicting timelines can lead to chaos in the storyline and in the "canon" of the story universe. This is referring to the in-world continuity problems that lead to reset events like Secret Wars, real-world canon shifts in the comics as Marvel rewrites their own in-universe history, and to the conflicting timelines with regards to split ownership of the film properties. Just like how WandaVision dabbled with a meta-commentary of the history of sitcom television and Falcon & the Winter Soldier dissected the meaning behind nationalist iconography, Loki seems set to be an in-universe version of Marvel showing us how the sausage is made as they prepare for universe reshaping events like Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

As much as I like your idea of Loki eventually going back to the timeline to fulfill his role, I don't think that's going to happen. At first I thought they left behind a duplicate Loki in that timeline to get taken to Asgard. But upon reflection, I think what happened after they took him is reset that timeline. So Loki never actually left there and the branch he caused by teleporting away with the space stone is gone. Basically this version of Loki exists outside of time as they said during the episode. And I'm looking forward to him helping the TVA stop other versions of himself. Sounds pretty cool to me and it is a very solid first episode.

Because they cheated other timelines, to get half the universe back? so other timelines are not restored Its a 5 year old grade skler answer of tying in inconsistent, lazy, bad writing of oh its 1 in 14 million, its meant to be. I’m guessing by the End, maybe post S2 if it happens, Loki will escape back to the original timeline- but potentially in season 1, something will screw up the TVA, bringing the multiverse back into it’s natural, chaotic state- which will lead into Doctor Strange 2 and eventually to Secret Wars- which will be the massive war of timelines- hopefully with Kang and Doom as frontline villains.

I think you forgot about that part when tva first arrives in Mongolia, after taking loki with them they set a time resetting bomb or...something that erased that time line....I suppose. At least that's what the soldier said.And hence loki cannot get back to where he left...

didnt the avengers cause so much damage to the timeline. Because they cheated other timelines, to get half the universe back? so other timelines are not restored Its a 5 year old grade skler answer of tying in inconsistent, lazy, bad writing of oh its 1 in 14 million, its meant to be. @@h0197 1. not unless those changes are the part of "approved" timeline. 2. same as above 3. they didnt say no changes to the timeline are permitted they sayd the timeline was already set and they are preventing BRANCHING out of that timeline 4. they dont care, they casually WIPE OUT any branch timeline created, whether its by intention or accident it doesnt matter to them. 5. because those events are the part of "approved" timeline, any branch out of that stream is eradicated by them 6. this time there are three being that "decided" what apropriate timeline is and are genociding anything that doesnt fit ... its perfect villain setup, because on the surface level they are looking like the good guys but in reality they are infinitely worse than even Thanos

I knew straight away when they mentioned hunting a killer with knives it was another variant Loki. In fact I basically had the entire script figured out in my head as soon as I figured out the villain which was disappointing. As well as the Outer Limits it reminded me of Clara's end from Doctor Who. She's dead but out of sync with time to faff around as long as she likes until she goes back to the moment of her death.

I think the loki reveal was supposed to be obvious and personally I don't think that's what they're doing here. I think Loki will find a way to return to the original timeline where his future self is dead. Perhaps as a way to repent for his sins. Or they'll do something else honestly they can be really creative here.
