@edacskywalker84652 жыл бұрын
@@Jimbo292 What if we say something is "girly" or "boyish"? Those things don't refer to biology. They refer to the social expectations of both genders. People who are trans know full well they can't get pregnant if they identify and or transitioned into a female or generate sperm if they define themselves as male and kr transitioned into a male. Laungueg is always changing and is not prescriptive. Being called she/her, he/him, or they/them is how people want others to associate them with those genders and what the expectations are that have been realized since we have categorized them long ago. But what if we could fully transition a male into a biological female? Structure, chromosomes, uterus, everything. Honestly, I wish there were no stereotypes between men and women and that those terms can just be used biologically with no social bias. Society doesn't see it that way but I do think it could happen if we allow enough time to pass.
@Jimbo2922 жыл бұрын
@@edacskywalker8465 Language is always changing because meanings are redefined in meaningful ways so that people can communicate on a mutual level. In this case, the redefining of woman is not being done by the majority and it is not serving any practical purpose. Nearly everyone knows what a woman is. We don't need any further clarification. In the case of calling someone girly or boyish, that is fine. There are feminine men and masculine women. That doesnt change the fact they are men and women. Maybe in the future we will be able to fully transition people. But I'm not sure I'm even fully supportive of that. What will we expand that reasoning to? Will people pick apart every insecurity they have and change the very fibre of their being? I know this is a subjective thing and others may see it differently. My viewpoint is that in this life, certain things just are the way they are and we have to learn to accept them.

As an African, who has lived my whole life in Africa, I can state that Transgender ideology is not something that naturally exists in our culture. If you watch the documentary, you will see that the interpreter had challenges when trying to translate, because the idea is foreign to us. You can prove this by visiting Africa, particularly rural Africa, where western influence is non existent. Urban Africa has some western influence, but still, most Africans know that it is not in our culture. If we were not in the digital/information age, I would I believe Africans would not have known that "a person can be born in the wrong body." Even the whole gay and lesbian thing is illegal in most parts of Africa. That is not to say that there are no gay/lesbian people, but the whole alphabet community is seen as unnatural and wrong here.

I just wanted to say thank you. I'm a 36 year old DNA matching woman, wife and mother of 2. When I saw the Mother's Day CK trans pregnant man ad, I felt heartbroken and really upset. I couldn't put my finger on how to articulate why but I felt like something that was supposed to celebrate me had been stolen. Last week, I was in the grocery store and saw a very obvious young man (adams apple) with the name tag Jaime and the pronouns underneath said she/her. I was sad that this person obviously didn't know who they were but I was also really angry inside again - that stolen feeling. It wasn't until I watched this video and heard Matt's words that I realized what I was feeling: I am a woman and I have a unique, God given identity that cannot be appropriated or used like a halloween costume. It was so validating to be heard and given the words I couldn't find! So thank you. I even took the analogy one step further and started laughing histerically as I pictured myself dressing up like a doctor and then expecting to be allowed to operate. This issue is that dysfunctional and unreasonable. If anyone out there has felt like I have, stand in your DNA matching God given identity. Truth doesn't have to be mean or hateful. No name calling or put down required. Truth just is so stand in it and pray for people who don't know who they are, instead of lashing out. Thanks again for your channel. It's very impressive and what you are doing matters!

So, I have a gay uncle. As a child, growing up I spent a ton of time with him and his 'partners', not realizing he was gay or that these other men were his romantic interests. My family (my parents) knew, but my Uncle was always discrete about the romance part of his relationships. I had ZERO idea he was gay until about 12 years old when my parents finally blatantly told me, "Oh, your uncle is gay". The LGBTQHLIDHSDF conversation had never come up between my parents and me up until that moment. And my response to learning he was gay was (and still is), "Oh, that's nice" and then moved on with my life. I was never taken pride parades or any kind of pride events. Why would my parents take me? I wasn't gay and the idea of someone being gay wasn't a big deal, since they never made it a big deal. The gay people I had spent time with during my childhood were always friendly and really good people and didn't wear their sexual preference on their sleeve (so to speak). But these parents raising kids today are completely obsessed with sexuality and exposing their kids to sexuality and extremely young ages...but why? I see no upside in bringing your young kids to a pride event. The result is just going to be confusing for them and I can imagine this type of parenting (i.e. exposure to openly sexual content), is (in my opinion) going to lead to a lot of kids confused about their own sexual identity as they reach puberty and into the mid/late teens. And (in my opinion) when these kids seek out social groups to help self identify, they are being met with people supporting and even celebrating their confusion, which just makes these worse for them, not better.

I was born and live proudly as a biological female. I just watched the documentary and boy oh boy that was one hell of a journey just to try to get a simple answer to a simple question. I got so sick of repeating out loud to just answer the darn question. I don't know if these people were brainwashed to give the same politically correct answer or just avoid the question at all, but to say that the word woman is an umbrella term and that it means different things to different people really pissed me off. I'm sure that when Matt was growing up in the 90s watching Arnold in Kindergarten Cop, he never in his wildest dreams thought he would make a documentary to discover how to define "woman". I know I certainly never considered that such a documentary would not only be made, but need to be made!

Remember everyone No matter who is on what side, if there is a culture that is trying to take away your freedom of speech, push their ideas to confused kids and teens, ignore all questions and shoot them down instead of explaining them with reasoning, call you names just because you disagree with them and so on, know that it is there just for some people to have a control over your society and you shouldn't support it Not supporting such a thing doesn't mean you are islamophobic or transphobic or what ever

This!!! I am a woman, not because I feel like one but because I physically am one. How I dress, how I style my hair , what hobbies I have, what career I have etc etc has nothing to do with why I am a woman.

EXACTLY!! This whole ‘I identify as a woman’ or ‘I feel like a woman’ only comes from people who are not actually females😭I AM A WOMAN because I am an adult female human being. It’s not a feeling or identity. It’s who I am for gods sake

I understand that there are cultures that treat the concept of woman as a social construction, but that was not the case for me, I came to the conclusion that I am a woman simply because I was born that way, female, when I was a baby my parents saw me as a girl, even though I have no idea of the world, so much so that they gave me a "feminine name". As I grew up I understood myself as a woman because I was born with a vagina, regardless of what I thought was right or not, I saw myself as a girl because of that. They didn't care how I dressed, acted or spoke, I didn't stop being a woman because of that, in fact it didn't matter, after all stereotypes are social, my sex assigned at birth is not. If I had been born male, I would probably understand myself as a man today.

Coming from a woman from Africa, I can honestly tell you that there is no tribe in Africa that is neither for or against transgender people. It is not something they think about or care about in their daily lives. In fact most parts of Africa homosexuality is illegal. I'm not saying I agree with that law, but the fact it exists

Great documentary and I also love how these people claim others questioning them is violence, only to respond to the question with violence. Trying to intimidate you into agreeing with their psychosis. They are quite literally trying to define people's genders while at the same time accusing the patriarchy of being responsible for this. They are a group of incompetent people not truly engaged in reality.
