It´s fabulous to see the expression of hapiness and pleasure on Budgie's face... After all these years, the kings are back to the kingdom, and we the devotees with an open heart to venerate them.

@@kalevala29 As i never read that biography, i was not aware of this fact in Budgie's life (was it due to the divorce with Siouxie..?) Thankx for sharing.
@kalevala29Ай бұрын
@@LuisdeSousa-L3X It seems everything began to unravel during the recording of Tinderbox. Indeed, while in Berlin, he frequently went out and on one occasion, was found passed out drunk in a gutter. He recognized his problem and was attempting to tackle it. Concurrently, Sioux was reflecting on her own experiences with her father, who had succumbed to alcoholism. The book isn't particularly revelatory and concludes on a somewhat sour note, as despite their well-wishes for one another, they were no longer in communication.
@LuisdeSousa-L3XАй бұрын
@@kalevala29 It seems more or less comforting to me, that after the bitter end with Siouxie he ended up finding stability and love in the arms of another person. Still, he procreated and is now father of two children who -for him- must mean that life is not something to waste away. (Tinderbox is a beautiful record, didn't know it also marked the beginning of the end between them). Again, thanx for sharing.
@kalevala29Ай бұрын
@@LuisdeSousa-L3X No problem. I was unaware that he had children. Siouxsie toured last year, but as far as I know, she didn't seem interested in any press coverage. I'm not certain about her intentions, but I think she just wanted to remind everyone that she's still active, LOL.
@LuisdeSousa-L3XАй бұрын
@@kalevala29 In fact, Tinderbox ended up being the Banshees' last great work, after which Siouxie demonstrated that she was someone looking to be a distinguished artist again and to whom all the honours of having once been the Queen of Goth should be given. Actually, i think she only managed to continue to convince some fanatics of her persona, and in terms of artistic quality she only managed to be banal.

The Banshees were a kind of nemesis for me. Going to gigs has always been my favourite pass time and the Banshees one of my favourite bands. But somehow seeing them always went wrong. Things like being too skint, too far away, tickets sold out. Then finally i got to see them in 85 at the Hammersmith odeon. Then about half way through the gig and halfway through my favourite tune, Christine, Siouxsie goes and slips and knackers her knee, ending the gig. After that circumstances came back into play and I never saw them again. It's the same now with Otoboke Beaver. No matter how hard I try i just haven't managed to see them. And they've played on my birthday 3 times in the last 5 years.
