It means 'Paradise of Bonobos'. This is the only sanctuary for orphaned bonobos, victims of the bushmeat trade. Lola ya Bonobo is located at the edge of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the only country on Earth, where we can find this species, the bonobo, our closest living relative along with the chimpanzee.

Yah their DNA is different than chimpanzees and they certainly have complete different makeup. It's hard for us in this country that, they are food, then the babies are pets. I am so appreciative of you wonderful people that care for them. My health is bad, so to watch these programs, I can't express enough how much these true life videos mean to me. I have never had the money to travel but to see your country and you loving people is wonderful and peaceful ❤. Thank you

@@meelusine Depends from what lense you look at it. If you value civilisation, you have to deal with that. Heraclitus said - "War is the father of all things." Competition was the essential driving force for cultural and technological evolution. You can't have one without the other. That's a tragic element to human history, if you will.

@@chloeshann8142 If you take a bonobo and trace back its mother, its mother's mother, etc, and do the same with yourself, you will eventually find a distant grandmother you both share... you'd just have to go back about 6 million years though. Somehow I doubt you've traced your genealogy back 6 million years.

May the Creator and a strong vanguard of truly decent, conscientious human warriors keep the safety, existence, and well-being of these creatures at a premium. I'm not sure how you could look into their very human-like gazes and think of torturing and eating them. It's true of any creature really, but especially the family of great apes. It's just unfathomable.

‘If we don’t keep this species alive we may never find out sime of our history “ the narrator read out. Such a lopsidedly intellectual world. What about we look after them for the sake of it. The respect that they exist. And - unbelievable work all the people in the refuge. And I was jealous of the lady cuddling the babies

@98shon98

@@chloeshann8142 First off Chloe, I didn't say that animals are people. Re-read what I wrote without putting your narrative on it. Secondly, educate yourself, if it's possible for you co pretend big girl topics. These people have many other options to choose from. As a matter of fact, Bush meat is illegal in Africa. They are not eating primates out of desperation for food. They are doing it because they like the taste. Again, if you're able to comprehend subjects that rise above Sesame Street level, look up cannibalism. Cannibalism is illegal also, again they are not eating other people out of necessity. They are doing it for tastes. I'm in no way saying that just because they eat bush meat, the cannibalize humans, but the ones who participate in that disgusting act, do it for the simple enjoyment of the taste. There are other things hunted in the bush besides primate, like bat's, can rats, antelope, etc. Quit being an SJW and making excuses for these people, especially ones that aren't true. People from Arica look down on these people as well. Why? Because it's disgusting. You may want to educate yourself before letting untrue shit spew from your mouth. Pathetic.

Of course, life within this realm goes back much further, but we are told, and we can decipher the illusion once we acknowledge it. 1. Create energy from matter? 2. Create matter from energy. Mission complete with regards to 1. Can you see 2. Or at least the fallout from the pursuit! Peace.

@mchevre
@mchevre Жыл бұрын
@@chloeshann8142 You keep replying to every comment on here as if it's your life's mission to defend the consumption of apes as food. While it's true that some rural poor communities rely on bushmeat because they have no affordable alternatives, the majority of consumption is in the form of bushmeat sold on the market in urban areas. In those areas bushmeat is seen as a luxury and symbol of social status, and is certainly not consumed as a last resort, but rather the opposite in fact. That is the main driving force for the demand for ape bushmeat. When rural people suffering and starving in poverty resort to eating chimpanzees, it's sad - but it's not representative of the majority of ape meat consumption, and that aspect of it can be eliminated through various economic measures to reduce poverty. The elimination of the luxury bushmeat in urban markets, however, is a cultural issue and can be addressed through the introduction of appropriate government regulations.
