been maining fizz since 2015, it is so hard to carry as fizz sometimes, there are too many things (champs, items, runes) that counter him. No wonder there aren't many main or fizz players, even if you do good in your lane, sometimes is impossible to carry

Yeah. Fizz was very fucking OP when the game overall was simpler, so there was virtually no counterplay when he got ahead. Now he's one of the 'basic mfs' of AP champions where you can exploit a lot of different things to counter him.

cause he pretty much get stat check by every bruiser, so you can't really pick him first, and for me personally, if i don't know the match up yet, i will just pick ahri or lissandra for safe laning phase, and fizz can't do much in those matchup as well, so a ton of reasons why not to play fizz

You pick any brusier vs Fizz and he just dies. Anywhere below Diamond he kinda just feels weird because most people don't know how to play him properly. Higher elo games more people just play things that Fizz does not want to see. You have many champions who just demolish Fizz through out the early/mid/late (pick 2) and get outscaled. Wanna play Fizz? Have fun trying to play the game because they won't let you. Not to say he isn't good but there just so little you can really do into a good team comp.

I was maining Fizz for quite some time (about 5 years but not 100% sure). Before mythic items Fizz was fine, with mythic items he was still fine but once they swapped back from mythic items Fizz feels bad and weak. Fizz is very mana hungry but no mana items really suits him. Manaflow is something but not enough, now you can't even run cookies because they don't give mana anymore. Didn't play this champ since the beggining of this season after couple games. But maybe I'll give it a shot.

I'm no Fizz main, but ill assume the following: LeBlanc: too slippery, can barely reach her if she plays correctly Sylas: Easily trades back and chases with E after you Q away with minions, not allowing it to be a 1sided trade Renekton: Empowered W can stun Fizz even on E or while Qing away if timed correctly, while also being able to trade on minions due to Q heal and chasing with E on the wave - all that while being a lane bully.
