In the book-it's a book within the book, with Humbert, after being caught as a murderer, writing a confession-he casually says that he had been in and out of institutions for the insane at least four times, one for a "sexual issue". She did not drive him insane.

@@retrogamer847 She was a child. She wasn't mature enough to understand the ABUSE he was putting her through. I've done many studies on this, and the novel (and films) are written in Humberts POV, so many aspects of their sick relationship were twisted in the ways of his sick mind. As someone who understands some of the things she went through, she definitely didn't love it at all. He just tried to convince himself that she did.

Ezért az alakitásért Oszkár díjat kellett volna kapnia, nade egy ilyen álszent világban, amiben élünk, ez ügyebár lehetetlen. A film nekem jobban tetszett, mint a könyv, és ez neki köszönhető elsősorban.
