i don't know why you think England doesn't have a traditional dress. English have their own traditional dress. Just because other European countries might share similarities, doesn't mean its suddenly not English.

ah thats it embrace your heritage, I liked the designs of the traditional german dress, even the old ladies wear them at the cultural festivals for german's and german americans, yes I like the aparan thing on the front and the flowers, oh and the fancy braids The german ladies wear its really elaborate and kind of attractive.

And my other comments from last year: Hi there, Cathy Cat! This was interesting, although I thought you were going to make a Lolita outfit mixing both styles at some point of the video. How about a video where you make/present a full Lolita outfit mixing the traditional Dirndl dress with Lolita (with all the rules, like no cleavage, etc.)? (Mixing /inspired by/ adapting).

Between the Lolita dresses you wear and the dirndl, you look much taller in a dirndl than a Lolita because of the low cut blouse. :)

I wonder if Lolita style was a thing before the book came out.
@CathyCat8 жыл бұрын
Masterpg2007 It's a common misconception that the name Lolita and the book Lolita to have anything in common. The only thing in common they have is the name.
@Masterpg20078 жыл бұрын
CanuDoitCat Interesting but did Lolita had this name before the book? I can't find anything on the style before 70s. It seems to be heavily inspired on old european clothing but with a japanese adaptation.
@bloodangelsheart8 жыл бұрын
+Masterpg2007 it was a miss interpreted by the Japanese. They associated Lolita as a young women (18-25) that was strong willed and rebellious. That was more based on the personality of Dolores rather than the story it's self. In Japanese manga Lolita became a personality type for shojo genres. And when someone called the fashion "Lolita" (A singer called Mana called it Elegant Gothic Lolita) the Japanese media went with it because it sounded cool, and rococo-like. So everyone went with it without knowing what it meant in English. And we still use the word today.
@Masterpg20078 жыл бұрын
A Thanks for explaining !

It's nice that you are learning about Germany. Your dress was cute but the traditional dirndl does not show any cleavage. Also, tradition has not moved to only the south. Each region has their own traditional dress. The dress you are referring to is the dress of the Bavarian region, as well as Austria.
@holaquetal32556 жыл бұрын
And in fact you could make it also like a challenge, for all your Lolita viewers all over the world, to make a full Lolita outfit combined with their traditional dresses of their countries, send a picture (or video), and then you making a video showing all those dresses! (A bit like in the MoeMoeKyun challenge, right?). I think that could be very interesting and even educational, to know the traditional dresses from many countries! I would gladly participate too, but unfortunately I’m old, I have no money and I can’t do sewing, so… u_u But well… I think several of your viewers/Kittens could like that idea and participate? Maybe some viewers suggest this already, sorry, I can’t read all the comments now.
