This is so good. A great example of poetic value in a song. Sorry Phish people their best song do not have poetic value like any Grateful Dead songs. This song is just beautiful. Jerry's voice just beings are warm feeling to my soul. I am still sad from Jerry passing out of the physical realm of existence over to the spiritual side. He definitely was a special human being. Jerry's music brought so much happiness to so many people. I am so glad i got to be a part of the seen and witness the GD play. I believe the experience made me a better person. Hunter recorded it long before the Dead did it. He released his version in 1987, so at the time it was thought of as one of his solo tunes than as a GD song. But the Dead’s version is quite different in many ways.
