I'm so happy to find someone talking dnd through a female gaze, also your makeup is 10/10. I'm playing a female drow who came from a previllaged family, trained to be a cleric of Lolth, girly had it all. Until she fell in love with an this cutsy drow warrior, while that kind of devotion and earnestness love is is not a thing that is acceptable in the traditional drow society. My girl Tiffany also had an aspiration of being a wizard cause she had a magic affinity, and she felt like the Lolth church hids so much information from them. So she told her boy to come with her to the surface and live there, and he was like, "no, honey, those elfs hates us, I can be your lover and we can keep our shared, more deep devotion in secret". Tiffany was really hurt cause she wanted her and him to live their own life and not to love in secrecy and to achieve her aspirations, her boy was really hurt, they first time actually fought. Then he was sent to war and never came back, probably kidnapped and my girl knew nobody would come after him to rescue him. She grieved him and left the underdark tl become a very goth liberarian, at least she hoped so, cause ppl at Candlekeep wasn't very nice and very much prejudiced towards my drow girly. So she's working at this tinie tiny dusty achrive sorting scrolls and teaching herself magic and becoming a wizard. She also learned about Eilliatrae and started worshipping her. She's got this inner battle and turmoil between the darkness of her past and her new worship in the present, sometimes she regrets she even left home and her family and lover behind because the treatment she recived, but trying her hardest to try and understand what being a good person means. She's a messy one and I love her to bits

So in BG3, I always play a character I created that's a Lloth-sworn drow wizard/cleric. Her backstory was that she was a noble daughter of a house that always had an interest in arcane magic(very embarassing, that's for boys). She kept insisting on learning it anyway, but eventually her older sister(whom she admired, they had a relatively good relationship even if her sister was super manipulative) convinced her that she could do both. So she became a cleric of Lloth too, which was The Worst Decision Ever, but the alternative would have been death, so you do what you gotta do. She left home seeking freedom from her family, the opportunity to learn the magic she really loved, and to get away from Lloth. The last one she's still working on. More chaotic neutral than evil, I like her because she's a mix of being very adventurous and easy-going and also super jaded about life what with the evil goddess lurking over her shoulder.

I played a Drow assassin that escaped from Menzoberranzan before Lolth could turn him into a drider. I even had a plan with my DM that if he ever sent the drow after me and I survived that their would be a chance that I would be a drider after that, or something like a werespider. I also played a Drow bladesinger wizard that was a follower of Eilistraee. That character was really fun to play.

I'm also doing an evil dark urge playthrough on BG3 as a Lolth sworn paladin. I made him an oath breaker. Would have rather had a different subclass but oath breaker felt best for what their are in the game.

I had few characters tied to Lolth herself but one i loved so much due to how long she lasted. I played a cunning and evil Death Cleric of Lolth / Fiend Warlock in a two-year campaign. She manipulated the party by being the only healer who they needed and saying that she is a Servant of Torog. She was using her power to gain information and control over her enemies. Her ultimate goal was to defile a temple of Eilistraee and Sehanine, and after succeeding with Sehanine temple, she gained the ability to transform into a Draegloth Favored One (due to her Glabrezu father and high drow priestess mother that i didnt knew but apparently that is how Draegloth is created but the dm wanted me to find out after defiling one temple, Favored ones are Female and are rare and more cunning than Male). She lied, claiming it was a spell from Torog and that they should be happy that she can now assist even more. When the party learned the truth from Eilistraee’s High Priestess that she was the one who defiled Sehanine temple and was in fact a Cleric of Lolth, they had to face her in an epic boss fight, with Lolth granting her extra power and summons it was a battle that was hard and challenging but the party won. The DM and myself knew the fight would probably happen sometime and i was fine with it, but the thing we didnt expect was this to happen this late due to my RP and ability to lie well, the party loved the twist but hated that they had to kill my character. Afterward, I joined with a new character, and the story remained a highlight for everyone, also it made the party paranoid of every new character they met, i gave them PTSD. (She was a Level 12 Cleric / Level 6 Warlock at the end). Also Shepherd Druid subclass could be reflavored to be more spier related and make most of the summons spider like.

@kikiscoven Im glad you loved the story, i must say that it couldnt be possible without the DM who was so active with her story. Xullar (the cleric/warlock) has been the biggest highlight of my evil characters, she even was referenced in two other campaigns the same DM ran, one as a story of a False Torog Priestess told by the heroes of the first campaign and in the other campaign we fought her twice as she was one of the heads of a cult that wanted to open portals to material plane so it gets taken by Demons. She officially in the DMs world is still alive as both times she got killed on material plane so she is reforming in Lolths home.

I'm actually playing a half-drow male who was born in the underdark and suffered under lolth's teaching. Eventually, when he got older he escaped the underdark. His action or more of a liar and a betrayer, but he wants to change (he just won't admit it). His story is about not letting other people decide who you are, but making your own path. Just because he's a drow doesn't mean he has to be evil.

I briefly played a Drow wizard who was a spy during a massive coup of a noble house, now grappling with the aftermath of war and revolution. The rebellion won but everything is in shambles and we’re no better off than where we began. She would be fun to revisit. I also can’t help thinking a swarmkeeper ranger whose swarm manifests as spiders would be perfect.

In a campaign i'm in (level 13) my character is a noble male Drow that escaped the underdark when he was 107 years old. His family was noble because his mother was a high ranking priestess of Lolth, and his older sister was also practicing to become one of them as well. He wasn't good at fighting and didn't care enough about anything that could've made him be slightly needed and accepted as a male drow, he was bullied by his own family and his sister almost let him die once, during a big fight between noble houses. He hated lolth and the underdark, but couldn't tell anyone. On the surface he managed to live a happy life, get married and have a child with a elf woman. Unfortunately, stuff happened and he had to make a fey pact to save his child from dying during a harsh winter while the world was at war, and he became a warlock. He lost his wife to the war. He found a safe place for the child and started adventuring. Managed to break off the pact and later became a twilight domain cleric, following the God of Night (idk if it's dnd canon). The campaign is long, but a month ago the party went to the underdark and had to stop my character's mother from performing a dangerous ritual: one that would've given her, now avatar of Lolth, the power of the Avatar of Selûne, who she kidnapped. It was an hard fight against her and my character's sister, and so emotional when he finally had the opportunity to kill her and tell her that the destruction of the city was all her fault. We actually saved the city from major damage bc we're not monsters, but she had to feel guilty. Anyway! He's my baby boy, i love him and his daughter with all my heart. He also has a pet black dragon and he's teaching him to be good. His family history has so many implications in the story and it's very fun

While being set in another universe, I play a Cleric of War Domain in service of that’s universe “Lolth”. She’s called Alanta there, and he is a male cleric, that she allows because she’s aware that even the females can betray her, although males can never be as high ranked as a priestess. His biggest wish is to be blessed into being transformed into a drider, which is named “conductor” in that universe, for they are the ones that conduct Alanta’s will on the planes. His background is that of a “fanatic”, conquering and destroying other gods temples and churches in name of Alanta and making them hers, and his weapon of choice is a Warhammer that judges the faithful: the worthy will survive its hits, and the unworthy… Well, let’s say no one survived until now. 😅 Loved your content Kiki, you’ve got yourself a new follower!

This was awesome! If you ever do a video on Menzoberranzan or other Drow culture I'll have my eyes out out for that! Love your style of information like it's a little chisme chit chat lol. To share my own Drow. My current Drow in the campaign I'm in is a male Drow who acted as a kind of emissary with the overworld who would go find suitable towns and cities to raid. He eventually while traveling was stuck in a deadly storm which left them shipwrecked and (because I'm a World of Warcraft player...I know) I took some creative inspiration from my favorite character to basically make him a similar character to Azshara (an evil night elven queen turned half octopus monster basically) where he was saved by an old kraken god and formed a pact with them to survive from drowning and to obtain power for the god (as a Fathomless Warlock). So now he is a tentacle-y drow finding his own new found power and is now on a quest to see where that leads! (and what kind of probably really serious trouble he'll find himself in if he ever returns to the Underdark)

Some of my favorite books are the War of the Spider Queen novels by Richard Lee Byers. It really offered an amazing look into the dark fantasy noir style political intrigue of living in a Drow society devout to Lolth. It's great to see more coverage of the lore behind her. Also I agree with the other commenters. A video on Eilistraee next would be awesome.

I once listened to an audiobook of Queen of the Demonweb Pits (apparently it was the third in a series with characters I wasn’t familiar with and it was in Greyhawk but it was awesome xD) and Lolth in that book is absolutely my favorite part and she has a throne of her enemies stitched together she keeps alive with magic and a Marilith secretary she shoots the shit with who is my second favorite part of that book. It makes me want more Lolth content of her directly like that.

bg3 was my introduction to any dnd lore andddd most of what i know still comes only from there so thanks for making these vids!!! super easy to listen to and learn. i happened to just start a lolth drow run for the new patch. i just did it because i heard drow dialogue choices were interesting but then i was getting all theses lolth-related ones i didn't understand at all. they don't really touch upon lolth otherwise, so despite me getting the vibes of shar and selune with my other runs i was sooo in the dark with lolth (pun not intended). im glad i can understand more now!!!

Absolutely LOVED this video, your make-up looks fab and I am just so here for Lolth because I adore her in all her dark, petty glory and it was nice to hear you explain her history so eloquently! You said you'd like to hear character backstories, so this is mine, I hope you don't mind me sharing! In BG3 I play a nonbinary Drow Dark Urge character. Bhaal kinda sculpted and plonked them to be raised in an assassin family in Menzoberranzan so they'd be raised to be such a good little murder progeny. However, Lolth realiesd what Bhaal had done, basically and went, "LOL no, that's mine now" and became extremely possessive of them (enough to curse their mother to be devoured by 10,000 spiders for trying to kill them when they refused to continue living as a woman in their house). Lolth loves watching my character defy and resist Bhaal at every turn knowing they have a greater claim on their soul than he ever could, and she finds it highly amusing to watch other Drow get so murderously mad that my character continues to have Lolth's favour despite wanting literally NOTHING to do with her (they fled to the surface and everything, they are so very very tired). Lolth threw a party when my character ended up completely ridding themselves of Bhaal's influence and thwarting his evil plot. That'll teach him to encroach on her territory and presume to claim what is rightfully hers. Also she's probably bored of my character now that it's all over and if they ever return to the Underdark again, they're dead. I'd love to hear more Drow lore videos from you! x

I have PLANS for my next evil tav playthrough. A sorcerer/rogue devotee of Lolth, and descendant of a fallen divine being who fell into good standing with Lolth. Lolth's favor stems not just from the strength of her devotion, it is in her very blood as well. She'll be a divine soul sorcerer, and probably will take the thief rogue subclass for extra quickened spell casts (I love going nova when I can). The character is actually heavily inspired by the main character of "By the Silk that binds Us", one of my favorite baldur's gate 3 fanfics involving an arranged marriage between the pov reader and Matron Minthara of House Baenre. Yeah, it's for the Minthara lovers big time, especially those who enjoy seeing her in her element, steeped in the treacherous politics of Menzoberranzan, as well as how she'd be as the Matron she longs to become. So naturally she's going to be romancing Minthara exclusively, the mission to find and retrieve (or eliminate if necessary) House Baenre's wayward princess being her entire reason for journeying to the surface and falling into the mind flayers' clutches. Unlike the stereotypical priestess of Lolth, who embodies the cruel and vicious nature of Lolth to achieve status and bring followers to heel, her relation to Lolth is more personal. She was cast out by her family when her divine blood revealed itself, and survived in the wilds of the underdark only by the grace of Lolth's guidance and power. She carries that instinct of survival with her into the present, and has a knack for interpreting and navigating Lolth's chaotic will, and acting accordingly. She will do anything to survive, but also to ensure the survival of those close to her, from loved ones to those of a more "found family" persuasion. So long as her sentimentality doesn't go too far and Lolth becomes displeased... at which point her greatest gifts might turn against her.

If you do some more bad bitch lore in the future I would suggest queen titania and her sister, since in bg3 you can be an archfey warlock. The archfey and fey and in general have very questionable morality so Titania might trap a girl who’s prettier than her in an endless maze and still be seen as the good queen in the fey wild.

@@kikiscoven yeah the archfey in general are terrifying with how frivolous they can be. Titania gaze is said to be able to cause mortals to go mad and she finds them amusing. While her sister is more overt with her violent and horrible acts, but then again she didn’t force a halfling from the material plane to join her court li who wrote sites of the seelie.
