Painted for the last day of Routemasters on route 8. One that Stagecoach kept for a while for special events..... Brian Souter is a bus enthusiast, used to go conducting on the 8s & 15s when the mood took him!

The newer Stagecoach livery looked great and I noticed it's silver split style rims too! London was still worth visiting.

This part of London was definitely not worth visiting. Mare Street and the Narroway were a bit of a dump back then, it hasn't changed much.

The end of RM operation in North London, just the 159 left to be converted by then. Hideous bendy buses would be gone after 4 years.

I had moved home to Wales by then and missed the last day. Had to make do with the last day of the Ailsas in Cardiff. The same question for London as over here. All those motorists crawled about in the middle of the day - what do they do for a living?

@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Sorry but no. The amount of time they spend sitting in the car queuing to get into the car park. Queuing to get out of the car park for that matter. When do they get time to work? And the queue of motorists for the Magistrates Court the first day after the Christmas break was just ridiculous. There is nothing else down that road except the Prison. Will you tell me they were all visiting relatives?
