London Mayor Candidate Shaun Bailey on Construction, Haulage and Housing Issues

If you watch Ashville Weekly you'll know that I'm always moaning about ULEZ and other local issues. With the London Mayor vote approaching we reached out to both Shaun Bailey and Sadiq Khan to get some answers from a construction/property/haulage perspective. Shaun responded so we went for a drive in my Scania Lorry and I tried to better understand both his policies that would effect me most and politics in general.

This man clearly understands A LOT of London's problems and is passionate about fixing them. He certainly speaks sense and represents a a big part of what Londoners want and need. I'm pretty informed on him but that said, I'll dig a bit deeper

Hardly a proposed policy that I'm against. To say the same about Khan, I just couldn't. Many of their policies actually harm the working class and most venerable communities in London.

I don't live in London so the video itself was irrelevant to me. However, I found myself listening to this chap and he has a kind heart, he knows his stuff and has put a lot of hours into his manifesto. Politicians rarely do anything they initially said to get themselves elected and I believe manifestos should be legally binding as that is what gets them the votes. I hope in this case, as you Londoners are voting for a person rather than someone who is just a front for the party they belong to, that the person you vote for will stick to their manifesto. I have never followed the mayor of London votes but all I ever hear is bad things about Sadiq Khan and he didn't even bother to reply to Daniel's request to speak to him. I genuinely hope this man, Shaun Bailey wins the vote and topples Sadiq Khan off his perch. I would absolutely love for Shaun to get the job and to do everything he says which he has budgeted for and he has seriously done his research into everything as he was never stuck for an answer to Daniel's questions. I would truly love for Shaun Bailey to be THE FIRST honourable mayor/politician. Thanks Daniel, I found this so very interesting yet I'd never normally watch anything like this. I think I enjoyed the virtual trip in the truck nearly as much as the interview. 🤞🏼for Shaun Bailey 🥇

its easy to promise the earth before you come to power. frankly how is TFL going to be funded when you're abolishing ulez, cutting congestion charge, reducing cost of public transport etc. Tax cuts are easy to promise, but how are they going to balance the books. They need to get money from somewhere. If anyone promises tax cuts, they got to equally say which services they are going to scrap, if they're not scrapping anything then they need to explain how are they going to match the revenue they lost from the tax cuts.

Daniel is a great all rounder, fit and sexy enough to have some amazing photos on Google from his modelling days, he can drive everything he has on his yard and is educated enough to know everything about every job he does from starting off developing high end properties to getting his first wagons to shift muck from those jobs to then getting his skips and then he set out to supply all he needed to actually do those 'high end' developments. Ashville has risen to being a fantastic all-round company especially once they reopened the railhead in 2019 which meant aggregates could be delivered in bulk, allowing Ashville to have on hand all the ballast needed for their concrete lorries plus being able to deliver to other jobs who need it. Daniel is very smart on absolutely everything within his business. One only has to hear him explaining the stages in the renovation of Yianni's house. I have to admit to being confused by the basement salvage though. It's been going on so long, I can't remember why it is a salvage job, what happened to it? I admit to getting a little distracted during that segment of each video. I hope once it is completed that Daniel will do an hour or two long video of that job from start to finish so I can see it all in one dose. There aren't many like Daniel, who has so much on but he is on top of everything and not letting anything slip. We see he's also pretty much there with going to fly a light plane, what next? A helicopter? Either he or Yianni will get one I'll bet. Plus an Ashville train on the line, even if it's a GBRf engine named Ashville...or does Daniel want a train permanently on a siding, like he has his taxi and wants a London Bus. Maybe he could just shunt to n fro on his line.

Mr Bailey has hit the nail on the head, his housing ideas should be replicated around the country, the housing shortage in the UK ruins peoples lives, prices are too high so people become slaves to their mortgages, everyone is always tired and stressed and this also ruins family life because often both parents have to work full time and this can and often does have a detrimental effect on family life! Thanks Daniel for giving Mr Bailey this chance to speak, people should be excited at the prospect of him becoming Mayor for London. I wish him all the very best. I have to add, Shaun is right, people have so many things in common regardless of their roots, the media in the UK seems to enjoy causing problems and feeding the fire, so many people from different backgrounds rub shoulders every day and get on just fine, it's time to be fair to everyone and work towards a common goal. The potential for London is mind-blowing, let's get it done Seriously!

Interesting interview however I am concerned with TfL funding as the Conservatives changed the funding formula which means TfL relies significantly more on ticketing revenue than other cities around the world. We need to keep fares affordable, not to delay Crossrail 2 and look at extending tube platforms, station infrastructure and the trains to maximise capacity on public transport
