I'm really quite impressed by the ingenuity of the the projector fan setup, and the desk modifications. The way you talked about it reminded me a bit of my dad, who is a software engineer. He did natsci at Cambridge (Chemistry and Physics focused) before comsci was a thing.

It is nice to see how you've arranged things in your room. The removable panel under the desk is a cool idea, so long as you don't bang your knees on that stuff. I wish you and Claudio well in your new home. Depending upon what kind of home automation stuff you get into you may want to explore using an ESP8266 or ESP32 with it. They are inexpensive low-power WiFi Arduino compatible programmable micro-controllers. I've got one logging temperatures to the cloud. They are fun to play with.
