Too many sadistic psychopaths in society. Anyone who would watch the ripper video 10 times is of a dodgy mindset as is the narrator of this video. I switched off before long listening to her revelling in far fetched nonsense.

If you think this was bad, imagine living in France during the Revolution- where every word that was said may have been reported of you as a traitor to the state! I often wonder just how many people died because of heresay or greed/ jealousy etc of your neighbor. ..

Imagine being executed for damaging a rabbit warren! The executioners must have been some very grim fellows----especially carrying out drawn-and-quartering people. I assume that if Jack the Ripper had been caught and convicted, he would have been put to dearh . Fascinating history, Sinead.

It's no small wonder when someone was sentenced to transportation to first to the American Colonies, mainly Virginia, Georgia later to Australia was seen as deliverance.

But Jane Setmour is buried in Windsor and the Countess od Salisbury was called Margaret Pole (not Pope) ;-)

Harry and Meghan are certainly fortunate this is not the sixteenth century or earlier. Those execution statistics are disturbing---129 men and 12 women were executed----now that is deadly sexism! This was completely engrossing. It is commendable that Britain does not hide nor whitewash the brutality of its past. I marvel at the cruelty of people in those days---making executions a spectator sport. It is harrowing to think that this still occurs in places like Saudi Arabia and Iran. Thank you for the tour!

Sinead was actually correct when she used 'hung, drawn & quartered'. 'Hanged' is specifically used when a person is put to death by hanging, but in the case of 'hanging, drawing & quartering', the person isn't being ended by the hanging part, so using 'hung' is correct in this situation.
