This episode 3 of my Bakerloo Line exposed series.
I apologise for the delay in this episode, I didn't ask permission from the company to record the previous episodes and I got into a little bit of trouble...
Thankfully it has all been smoothed out and I have permission to upload the rest of this series.
Thank you everyone who has commented on these videos, I try to reply to everyone when I can. Your support is greatly appreciated and I am glad to make content that so many people find interesting.
There is more on the way...

I’m glad things worked out. It would’ve been a shame if you weren’t allowed to upload the rest of this series, because it’s shaping up to be amazing. I’m someone who gets really nerdy when it comes to the London Underground, so thank you for offering us a drivers eye view. And really appreciate the captions explaining everything. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great! You're back and I hope that you didn't get your knuckles rapped too hard. Thank you for battling with/persuading the powers that be to be allowed to continue this engagingly entertaining and enlightening series. You just know that with the timely explanations of what we're about to see, you'll have struck a match in the hearts of many a child watching who can't fail but be inspired to train to be a driver. Thank you too from this ahem slightly older kid, you brought back many happy memories of long journeys with I-Spy books and that's high praise indeed. Blue number boards, trip cocks dropping before the signal changes to green, ✓,✓! Cheers.

Well done on this series I only came across it by the KZbin algorithom showing you're video to me from what I understand if it's showing it means you're channel is popular! See that's something that really narks me with allot of transport companies these videos are not only helpful to people who say build routes in simulatiors or people who are looking for how systems work and how the lines look from the drivers POV without spending money on Video 125 stock! And it's the same with bus companies the way I see it is if you're showing the company in a good light as here and you're showing you're good at you're job explaining what is what and showing how much knolage you actually have it should be a good thing!!! I Am so glad they have allowed you to do more it's great to see though i've always prefered seeing the underground sections of the London Underground it is amazing to see everything else it's much more complex than you might think to work on the London Underground.

I have to say I particularly found the reverse to Elephant & Castle from what would usually be the terminating platform really interesting. Mainly because it’s a rare move, and not one I have seen anyone else capture yet (in terms of passenger journey. I wonder if the two platforms at H&W would hold trains rather than reversing to the siding if the tracks weren’t shared with the London Overground.
@awesomecreationschannel
@awesomecreationschannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Omari, unfortunately only one platform has access to the points so it's not possible to cross over without using the sidings. The sidings are also there to help regulate our trains with the Overground service 😊👍

The rattling noise is the equipment inside the cab door for isolating the third and fourth rail, as well as the ladder I believe.

@@awesomecreationschannel Ah so the camera was placed on the direction selector. Yeah I see. Most 72 stocks are quite rattly, especially on the above ground sections, as the track is quite bumpy there (at least, whenever I'm in the cab)

excellent video! could you tell what's the normal dwell time of Bakerloo Line in both peak and non-peak hours? Many thx!
@awesomecreationschannel
@awesomecreationschannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Sam, the dwell time doesn't really change much between peak and off peak hours but it can change a lot between stations. Busier stations like Piccadilly, Paddington and Baker Street can have up to 50 seconds dwell time. Smaller stations like Lambeth North can only have 15 seconds. We do have a certain amount of autonomy regarding the dwell times, we don't have to stay on the platform if no passengers are getting off or on the train, with the exception of the last train of the day, that one has to follow the timetable and dwell times due to connections with other lines. I'll cover this more in depth on a later episode 😊👍

Why 03:50 did you say Down Road over to the Up Road, when according to the sectional appendix they are called Down DC Electric line and Up DC Electric line? At 04:50 where you said the trains on the left can do 110mph, the Class 221s & 390s can do 125mph. At 17:00 isn't the signalling centre the Wembley Mainline SSC Suburban Workstation? At 19:43 since the Dalek was there doesn't that make it an ESR (Emergency Speed Restriction) instead of a TSR (Temporary Speed Restriction)? At 22:50 isn't it a type 1 junction indicator/Feather on signal WS22? At Willesden Junction can you reverse in Platform Two the bay platform? I can 24:00 where the positive rail also finishes on the route to the North London Line. At 27:35 isn't it a type 4 junction indicator/Feather on signal WS8? So at 28:05 what is the difference between the Speed board with the Red border with a mostly white background and black letters and the Speed board with the Black boarder with a mostly white background and black letters
@awesomecreationschannel
@awesomecreationschannel Жыл бұрын
Wow. There is a lot to unpack with all of these questions. Let's start with the Up and Down roads, they were covered in episode 2. On the high speed lines, I don't know the classes of trains that use these roads but I have seen 110mph speed limits, this is probably because it is a built up area. I don't know what the full exact name for the Wembley Control, we refer to them as Wembley Signaller because the signaller is who we speak to if we need to. I am sharing the terminologies that we use on the line so that viewers can be more familiar with what it's like driving on our line.
@awesomecreationschannel
@awesomecreationschannel Жыл бұрын
We're not taught about signal types or models, what's important are the correct aspects displayed. ESR or TSR, both are temporary and not the normal line speed. At Willesden Junction we can't use the bay road because our trains are too long, this I think was also covered in episode 2. There is no difference between the red or black borders, it's the contents of the signal which is important.

And what, the paths are not fenced in any way and anyone can get on the way and get electrocuted? And why couldn't we limit ourselves to one contact rail, why the second? After all, you have a familiar line with one contact rail.
