BOOK A LIGHTHOUSE MENTOR
Are you or someone you know doubting Islam? Do you find yourself struggling to find answers? Do you have a hard time speaking to someone about Islam? Are you considering Islam but are unsure about certain concepts? Are you an activist, Imam or community leader who is unsure about how to handle questions related to science, philosophy, the Islamic moral code, etc.?
You are not alone. Over the course of the last decade or more there has been a rapid proliferation of content online and in academic institutions that has eroded the faith of some people.
Seeing the rise of this phenomenon , Sapience Institute is introducing a One to One mentoring service called LIGHTHOUSE.

Very eye-opening. I live in the u.s. and when I was younger I would try to balance Islamic views and feminist views in my mind and heart. Now I realize I it’s impossible and I don’t need to. These ideologies were built by flawed, ignorant humans while Islam was created by the One without flaws.

Greta lecture. Just a correction- At 34:40 you say Muslims are taking the opinions of feminists over the opinion of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Our Prophet did not speak from his opinion. The Quran says "Nor does he speak from his own desire. It is only a revelation revealed." (Surah Najm, ayah 3-4). I am sure you didn't mean it in a bad way, may Allah forgive you
@endor8witch

this will be glossed over because this doesn't fit the narrative. the prophet is nothing more than a conduit of communication from god. but people take prophet's actions and elevate it to the same as words of god. this is saddening.

I wouldn't appreciate power of having kids too since no one appreciates it. As someone who chances for pride and success being a manager at work is way more rewarding than the stress of raising kids. What Im saying is if ppl would appreciate raising kids more so will I, cuz naturally we all want to be "accepted" by this wrecked society... even if it's wrong.

100% my father did not care at all about us kids, so my mom ran after her career her whole life and we suffered just to keep him happy and around tbh. Alhumdulilah so far my husband is very appreciative of how hard raising kids is and accepts that I might not work full on until at least the kids are in school bc raising them properly comes first. When they get older inshallah you still have 20+ years to do career. But fertility age and kids only comes once in life.

Saying naturally we all want to be accepted by society is a claim. Prove it. A Muslim should only care that Allah accepts them. If society only accepts you if you have intercourse with at least 30 men will you do it? Of course not society does not dictate.

Assalamu Alaikum to my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, and hello to everyone else watching this video. I've just finished watching the video and I wanted to share a summary of the key points discussed. This video discusses the topic of feminism, particularly focusing on the first and second wave of feminism. The brother delves into the historical context of feminism, the impact of first wave feminism on women's suffrage, and the racial and colonial nature of feminism. The brother also addresses the misconceptions and misunderstandings about certain Islamic beliefs and practices related to women. The brother emphasizes the importance of not compromising Islamic beliefs and principles in the face of external pressures. 00:13: Exploring First-Wave Feminism and Its Impact on Enfranchisement and Racism 01:07: Discussion on different waves of feminism, with the first wave focusing on enfranchisement of women. 04:59: First-wave feminism also influenced the age of consent and was intertwined with racism. 06:05: Racism and Colonialism in First Wave Feminism 06:05: First wave feminism associated with racism and colonialism 08:41: Key figures in first wave feminism were racist 11:45: Second wave feminism emerged in the 60s with focus on equal pay and abortion 11:58: The Impact of Feminist Authors on Domesticity and Women's Welfare 12:01: Friedan and de Beauvoir's works criticized domesticity and its impact on women's welfare. 13:58: Friedan later acknowledged the negative impact of feminism on women's psychological well-being. 17:35: Germaine Greer expressed regret over the negative impact of feminism on women's lives. 17:52: Critique of Second Wave Feminism and Sociological Study on Gender Happiness Discrepancy 17:54: Woman mourns for unborn babies, criticizes feminism's anti-motherhood stance. 18:34: Critique of Simone de Beauvoir's hypocrisy in personal life vs. feminist writings. 23:02: Sociological study shows men are happier, women sadder post-feminist movement. 23:44: Gender Differences in Sexual Motivation and Hormonal Variances 23:44: Men have stronger sexual motivation than women based on a study. 27:29: Women have significantly lower testosterone levels than men, impacting behavior. 29:06: Feminist arguments for absolute equality ignore physiological and hormonal differences between genders. 29:38: Biological and Cognitive Differences Between Men and Women 29:38: Physical and cognitive differences between men and women have hormonal implications. 30:02: Research shows significant cognitive disparities between men and women, challenging gender equality narratives. 33:19: Critique of societal acceptance of scientific findings based on gender differences in cognitive abilities. 35:31: Gender Differences and Complementarity in Society 35:31: Belief in complementarity over equality based on cognitive and psychological differences. 37:09: Discussion on differences in suicide rates, dangerous jobs, and societal power dynamics. 39:47: Introduction of the concept of intersectionality and its impact on power dynamics in society. 41:24: Challenging Assumptions of Power and Equality in Feminist Discourse 41:26: Feminist understanding must consider intersectionality and different layers of identity. 41:43: There is no consensus on the definition of power, which informs theories of justice and oppression. 46:55: The Quranic verse 4:34 implies a hierarchy of responsibility between men and women in familial settings. 47:18: Burden of Proof and Misconceptions in Islam 47:18: The burden of proof is on the one making the claim. 47:22: Misconceptions about equality, domesticity, and inheritance in Islam. 52:27: Belief in the finality of Prophet Muhammad's teachings and the proof of God's existence. 53:12: Discussion on Religious Issues and Prioritizing Security Concerns 53:12: Emphasizing the need to address security concerns over religious debates. 53:28: Highlighting the importance of not compromising on core religious beliefs. 54:23: Reflecting on historical events to draw parallels with current religious discussions.

I agree with Brother Hijab's assessment of feminism. That being said we shouldn't make negative blank statements about all women that advocated feminism because: 1- they don't know anything about real islam; 2- lots of them just wanted to improve on their own objectively tough situations; 3- it makes sense inside their own civilizational paradigms even though we strongly disagree with said paradigms. In other words, lots of them just didn't know any better so we shouldn't fall into a demonization type of discourse and putt all in the same basket.
