@WaaDoku6 жыл бұрын
Nancy Smith There's actually research on that but I don't wanna burst your bubble so if you're not interested in why so many people have this feeling don't continue reading. You have been warned. Research has shown that people remember their childhood and teenage years as the safest, most carefree, liberating time in their life. The music that one repeatedly listens to during this time becomes associated with those feelings and memories and create an especially strong emotional connection with us. It's not that no one makes good music anymore or that the world has more or less problems now than back then. Our lives just changed and became busier and more complicated. We became aware of everything that is going on in the world, we have to work, earn money and take responsibility for our actions. This is true for all generations, regardless of musical genres or artists or bands that might exist at the time.

The Hot 100 in those days was such a crap shoot. If a popular DJ in New York or LA liked your song, it got airplay. Smaller markets looking to NY and LA for cues would follow suit. And of course airplay drove sales. If no one in a position of influence heard or liked your record, it "bubbled under" into obscurity. A lot of great songs met that fate.
