It's more a nip, if he did actually bite he'd break their arm. Horses have a bite force stronger than a Rottweiler, so if they intentld on doing damage,they absolutely will.. a nip still hurts though, it breaks the skin. Mine has done it to me before because someone was giving him treats when he hadn't earned them, so when I didn't give him one, he nipped my arm.. And then all hell came down upon him and he hasn't done it again.

I got nipped once by Rojo, a 17 hand tall Shire/Percheron cross and even though it was a "Stop crowding me, human!" warning, I was black and blue for a couple of weeks! And yes, EVERY nip needs to be corrected instantly. He was. But the warning was MY FAULT! I should have been more careful.

Arni can be a great communicator when he's protecting his personal space. He's doing a lot of pushing with his head and giving the stare of doom.. He's nipping to get his point across but haven't seen him give a good chomp. All people have to do is respect him and the no nonsense Guard.

It just shows you how much these horses have had enough of the tourists. I think there should be something in place that people can't just come up to the horses. Even with this one prepared to bite people still can't leave it alone. If it gets a good bite on one of them they'll know it, and then want to complain. Half the time watching these videos the horses ears are back.
