Yes he fought, but still got destroyed by a dozen taliban fighters. They were unprepared, untrained and ilequipt for the mission, which ended in way too many deaths. Mission was a fuck up.

@@moc1831 Quite so, I didn't learn the true facts until recently. They were ambushed by 7-15 men and destroyed. They didn't even inflict any casualties on their enemy. Luttrell also most likely fled and left Axelson to die (not that you can really blame him). You can hear Axelson yell "Marcus, help me!!" in the footage captured from Shah's men.

If that means laying down your life to save those of either your squadron or your fellow squad you’re commanding, then so be it. I see what you’re saying, but the mission comes first, even if that means a sacrifice greater than anything you’ve ever imagined. It’s happened before and will continue to happen.

Watched it with my son who was in, in El Paso (Ft Bliss). Opposite effect and the whole theater was silent..choked up. Room full of operators and army. Was silent..almost reverent to their brothers. Son served in combat and brought war home with him...lost him to the demons he came home with. One of those memories that hits home watching it with him and can't watch it losing him.

My grandmother and grandfather were actucally buried in the same cemetary as LT murphy sadly when they passed away i think me,my dad and my brother went and saw murphys grave but i was far too young at the time to understand his heroism or even what he did

Bud, this movie fuggin sucks. If they replaced Marky Mark with someone who can actually be semi-believable as a tough guy, and if they stuck to verified facts instead of running wild with this bullshit fictionalized story...then it might have been good. As it stands, this is little more than cringe-inducing propaganda.
