I'm average IQ, and I hate everyone too. For me, it's not about IQ as much as effort. Society is just low effort and lazy. As a man with high energy and high standards (for myself and others), I just don't fit in.
@vinculaomega528310 күн бұрын
Are you absolutely sure that you're average? Really? You're here, you understand what Cappy is talking about. Averages don't. Having standards is indirectly thinking about the future. Averages don't. And don't make the common mistake of conflating education and intelligence. Just look at all the degree holders of today that wouldn't know the difference between pie and pi. I mean, I'm not like the guy that this video was about either, he's clearly smarter than most of us. But I'd wager that almost anyone that finds this channel and gets something out of it is above average.

I'm not huge on people but as a result i rarely feel lonely. With most people including most women you aren't missing much. People have just spun this grand narrative just to keep you invested in the game, but people, relationships etc rarely live up to the hype people build up around them. They might not be intellectually stimulating, but at least I don't have stupid, political bullcrap pushed upon me incessantly. It's not satisfying, but neither is it painful. I go online with a small network of friends I've cultivated over the years for my intellectual stimulation. I was a software engineer the latter half of my work years. Filter people out based on stupid worldviews that differ greatly from your own, lower your expectations, and drink on those rare occasions when you actually do get together with people. I've learned to shut up, as much as I can around people. I found good friends in the Latin mass catholic community. Smart people and if they're not smart, they're kind, USUALLY. Clarey is right. You're right Cappy and it's refreshing to hear honestly. I've never had my IQ tested, but I very much relate to this dude and even being older as I am, I get so sick of society gaslighting themselves and you with their stupid bullshit. Sometimes it's just the case that things just fucking suck, there's nothing you can do, things aren't gonna change and the hoping is making it worse because you're clinging to something that's never gonna happen and blaming yourself when it doesn't happen as though its your fault. It's not. Life is unfair. Sometimes something can be done about that. Sometimes not. This is one of those cases. Society just fucking hates super smart people. You make them look inferior and force them to confront how wrong they are about everything just by existing and having an opinion...God forbid you succeed in a way that contradicts the ways in which people believe that's normally done. They'll be merciless with you.

There is a spiritual teacher named Teal Swan who preaches that it's bad to be alone. But it's really hard to not want to be alone if you feel that you can't relate to other people. I can't relate to other people since I am into creativity and spirituality, but most people are into sports and action movies instead. If most people were into the same things that I am into, then I would not have desired to be alone in the first place.

The price check story at Menards reminds me of something I saw at a Wendys in Atlanta decades ago. The power failed at lunchtime when the place was crowded and the line was long. The grease pits and grill stayed hot enough for them to keep cranking out the food, but the cash register didn't work, so the register girl (a black high school girl) couldn't make change electronically. She knew she had to keep the line moving, so people would get their food instead of rioting, but she couldn't do the change in her head. Nevertheless, she improvised a plan: The last person the register rang up before it went off got 35 cents of change. Thereafter, she gave everybody 35 cents in change, no matter what bills they gave her and what the order cost. That got the line moving, and not too many people complained. Those who did were told to keep quiet, as everybody else needed to order their food and get back to work, and as the power was likely to be out at every other nearby place, they had just as well better get it here, while the ovens were still hot. Most people paid her as approximately as they could, and got their food and their 35 cents back. She cleared the line with most people getting served and charged approximately correctly, and few complained. Pretty smart girl in a practical way.

You guys are gonna laugh, but sometimes I'm jealous of people in the states, because I imagine that it would be useful to be surrounded by people who speak English. But you know what, I'll just stay here in Batumi, Georgia and pay 1% income tax... It's worth it. My rent is 700 USD for a giant 2-bedroom apartment. I totally integrated in Japan years ago, but my Japanese was perhaps at 50% of my English level. Rarely had any interesting convos, and not a single good Japanese friend to show for my 5 years living there. My Japanese definitely doesn't suck - I can go on Japanese Quora and write about life, death and taxes. No problem. But I never found a perfect new life in Japan. Contrarily, my naivete and assumption that most people are good at heart got me in a bit of trouble. But I'm all the wiser now and in a good financial situation.

I must insist: When visiting Singapore, make sure to include Kuala Lumpur. It's basically an ultra-cheap "Singapore light". You should stay as centrally as possible, to get a real feel for the place. Just my preference, but I suggest 2 weeks in each place. And ask yourself: Is Singapore worth paying 3x more for? You can get some really nice Airbnbs in KL. Next time I go, I will stay within 1 km of the Petronas towers. You'll want to stay as close as possible to any mall, for sure. KL is hot enough that setting yourself up within 1 km of everything you care about is super-useful. Alternatively, you could choose to live near one of the newer subway stations. The nicest and newest subway stations in KL look way nicer than most stations in Tokyo!

I studied Japanese and lived for 5 years there. But now: taxes are too high. Welcome to commie Japan with 30-40% taxes, no thanks. You can enjoy most of Japan online. The average Japanese person is not on par with the wonderful Japanese cultural artifacts we enjoy. Besides, don't want to hang around Tokyo when the next 100 year earthquake hits. If taxes were lower I'd probably take my chances though. Malaysia is a much better proposition than Japan to most people and the English is really good in Kuala Lumpur. Singapore is of course great too, if you're willing to pay 3-5x for rent. In terms of global utility Japanese scores quite low, but you can become a translator if you're willing to put in the work. For global utility it would be better to study Spanish and maybe Russian. Spanish for Latin America and Russian for ex-Soviet including Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and many more. Currently I want to learn Russian because I'm spoken to in Russian all the time in Georgia.
