How we installed a 44 inch Moonroof PART 2 | 1968 Impala | DIY | Lonestar Lows

In this week's video we finish up the 44 inch moonroof on the 68 fastback. The glass was finished off with a metal cover provided by @justinaskew. Everything lines up great and we are moving on to the bodywork stage of the car! Stay tune for more!

It's really hard to find a roof with clean glass. And nice trim around it. Nearly impossible. These roofs are 40yrs old already. So the metal cover is a perfect solution 👌

The difference between a 64 and 65 roof line id massive, I have owned both. Great looking work by everyone for sure. How hard will it be to install the Drain lines ????? One question I need to ask is do you do anything to seal the Windshield and Rear glass ?????????

Drain lines are easy. Just a hose and clamp. And run it down behind sail panel down inside quarter panel. The front drain I plugged. I've never installed front and back glass on anything newer than 64. So I guess we will learn together!

@@lonestarlows I was asking about the glass for my 64 if you used any sealer. Some day I will have to send you a picture of my 64. I bought it at Midnight in San Diego in 1982 got it apart and my Son started racing Karts. Car was from Chino, CA sao no Rust. I have the CA Pink and the Sticker for the CA Black Plate for 1977

I never used any sealer but if you want to , I hear people like to use the "3M bedding and glazing" ...it's the same type.of.puddy the factory used. It never hardens.

@@lonestarlows I have a tube of that 3M Sealer. The only information I ever found was a KZbin where they lifted the rubber off the glass and used the 3M between the glass and the rubber. I would think you would want the Sealer between the Rubber gasket and the metal of the car. The Factory around the front pillar is not that smooth.
