Fun fact: Inearly Act1 when you approach the dying Mindflayer in the crashed Nautiloid and use the tadpole to read its mind (INT roll) and succeed, you are then forced to make a WIS roll to avoid the Mindflayer controlling you. The DC is only 5, so you'd think it's an easy roll.... (uncomfortable laughter).... yeah... except when you roll a "1" for a natural fumble, like my Warlock did, and all your companions watch you kneel down to lay your head between the Mindflayer's tentacles to have your brain eaten. They were probably thinking "Should we say anything? Nah, it's probably some Warlock ritual stuff... right? Yeah, seems totally legit." That's the secret way to turn yourself into the Mindflayer right at the start of the game! (You can also do it deliberately, as the game gives you the option to be suicidally stupid.)

fun fact , better to not kill the hag, you get a thing that can use for +1 permanently to any stat, also you should have committed to losing the eye for the eye Volo gives that give you see invisibility at all times

How is it better? You get a permanent debuff on Perception (and a disadvantage against Hags) as a trade for a +1 in Intimidation... you also get a one time use amulet, true, but it only lasts until long rest. Much better to have Volo remove your eye instead, if you're dead set on losing a peeper tbh.
