It’s amazing the small things people take for granted, and don’t realize how much it means, until it’s gone. I’m happy they’re figuring this out. Losing taste and smell that long has to be awful.

I reccomend prolonged fasting. DYOR on the topic and make sure your in the right health to do it safely. I have seen a great improvement in my LC after a 3 day water fast paired with supplementing RESVERATROL & QUEURCITIN. This triggers autophagy and clears the blood of spike proteins!!!!

In 2021 I had all the symptoms of COVID but all the tests would come back negative. I wasn’t even able to walk, couldn’t taste, smell and hardly could talk due to the tightness I had in my chest. Little by little I got better and the last thing I was missing was my sense of smell. Took me almost a year and one day, as I was opening my peach scented shampoo, I was able to smell and I started crying because I had finally fully recovered. And supposedly I never had COVID!

I thought losing my taste/ smell for a month was bad. Eating was a chore and you don't realize how much you miss it until it's gone. Can I imagine 2 years of that? Absolutely not, that had to have been so difficult for her. So happy for this woman

Thanks for asking. @@foxmaz For me, a little bit. Now its about 5 or 6 weeks since losing it? My smell is back about 20%. My taste, about 30%. Sometimes it feels like both are improving, but then other times, its like its gone again. Really odd. I'm trying to be grateful that its come back some. Heard it can take 1 to 3 months. So Im hoping soon it is back to normal. Again thanks for asking :)

Me too, day 4, my cold has gone and all other symptoms but I can’t taste or smell anything, only occasionally I can smell my perfume but it’s very faint, I hope it goes back to normal soon

same here. meat tasted like she said, rotten. but suddenly weeks ago, everything was changed. it is all gone, just like that. I can now eat normal. I lost my taste October 21, it got rotten April 22. and now, it's normal again. so it probably is a matter of time..?

Going on 2 years. No matter what I try, it's like eating cardboard. I am so use to it, I cannot remember the last time I could taste or smell anything. I am 74 and not going to spend years trying to fix this, yet do not like the idea of never tasting or smelling ever again. For now, I will continue to work and look for treatments. I need this. I understand her emotion very well. Pretty much exactly the same thing is happening to me I couldn't smell ANYTHING for the first year but since then the smells are very warped. I was sick with covid maybe 2 days. Was not bad at all but it absolutely obliterated my smell and taste. Luckly meat isn't bad but absolutely no sweets or flavored things. I can drink water and for some reason sprite (other lemon/lime drink are horrible). Although sprite has a little weirdness to it but it is for sure the easiest to ignore. Honestly sometimes I just feel like lashing out. Life isn't the same and alot less enjoyable. You walk into a house everyone may say smells nice while I'm sitting there trying to ignore the overwhelming smells that I smell. Deodorant, body wash, colonge is the absolute worst. And everyone you hug smells horrible. Id rather smell people body odor over what ever this smell is any day of the week. It for sure has made me depressed and anxious. If this is life now, I don't know how to cope with that. Losing people is hard enough. Did I really need to lose one of my senses? Will life take an arm next?

I haven’t been able too smell or taste, it will be 3 years in September! I I will for 3-5 days smell a chemical or when you cut a piece of wood nonstop. Only thing I taste is the flavor orange, so I try &put the flavor in any liquid!! When the wood or chemical smell starts I get close to a migraine until it goes away!

I had two of these stellate ganglion blocks and they did nothing for me. That doesn't mean they can't work sometimes, but there absolutely is a good chance that it won't do the trick.

I've signed up for this program and had my first appt. Found out about it from this article. Had COVID in January of 2021. Still can't smell & taste nearly every day. Fingers crossed that the shots work. Hope you all find your own relief from long COVID.

@@dewainalexander6615 It did for me, but I know everyone is different. Not a doctor, here. But try taking Vitamin D and Zinc tablets daily. Try citrus flavored drinks and strong tasting fruits. It might help spike your taste buds. I also remember for the smell part holding strong scented candles up to my nose and breathing it in for several seconds multiple times a day. Good luck to you.

I lost my sense of smell in June 2021, almost 3 years later I have recovered about 10% and I confuse many smells, before the pandemic, I had an excellent sense of smell. Now I miss smelling many things, but most of all I miss smelling my children. Fortunately the sense of taste remains well for the most part. If anyone reads this and has advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

This happened to me since I had covid 4 years ago but with my taste. I think my smells are affected too but that doesn't bother me as much is not enjoying any food. I have no advice but wish you luck.....I know how frustrating it is.

My dad is 75 and lost his taste of sense of test and smell after Covid-19. I’ll be contacting the Cleveland Clinic. Im sure he needs to stop the liquor drinking and smoking too. He doent have the best appetite in the last 2 or 3 years. His weight has flucutated as well.

it’s been 3-4 years since i’ve lost my normal taste. Soda tastes like chemicals, some foods don’t taste the same, it sucks not having normal taste. I avoid many foods because of this. I’ll probably never get to enjoy food like I once did when I was 15-16

As an avid traveler I am afraid to say i won't be travelling to the United States as long as it still requires the two vaccinations. The rest of the developed world doesn't require vaccines for travel and it has been this way for a few months leaving the US isolated and embarassed again. Why is the USA so paranoid and hostile towards outsiders? One would think that the present administration would be more accommodating and welcoming. The USA's loss yet again.

This is not a lie. I had covid for the first time 4 years ago and I still have issues with my taste. I have had covid 2 other times and my taste changes each time. Food is no longer enjoyable. Oh and I have never been vaxed!

Would you happen to know what's it's like to miss the smell of your newborn grandbaby or baby? Taste food, smell fresh dried laundry, smell holiday meals or taste them? Probably not. Ive had covid 5 times now. Lost taste and smell only the first time. Came back after 2 months but was distorted, then fully back to normal after 11 months. So interesting how it effects some people worse.
