This series is so entertaining to watch. Normally you are 2-3 steps ahead of the game. I'm not sure if its the new patch, or the restrictions you've set for yourself. But this has been a constant fight to keep up, which makes it wildly more interesting. I'm sure it can be frustrating at points, so thanks for sticking it through. This is one hell of a story that is unfolding. Can't wait to see Europa perched atop her trade empire, forcing others to bend the knee.

It's actually fun coming back fresh and learning all of the twists and turns live. Has it been costly, oh definitely, but hopefully it's been entertaining.

Every AI core you use makes your threat go up. Every domain artifact you use makes your threat go up. Every point of population makes your threat go up. Even if you do fight enough to get it down, the 'increased defenses' modifier will go away. You need to make a deal with the Pathers or this is going to happen without end. You can do this by interacting with a Pather fleet in your system and opening comms.

I wonder if there is something to luring in smaller Pather fleets and farming them for weapons/hostile activity reduction. 🤔

@@GrumpyThumperGaming Eventually Pather cells can occur on each colony. They're bad and they can only be disrupted, never removed. Security sux. The only way to disrupt them is to destroy their base.

I wasn't aware that your challenge was to be "pure merchant", no fighting. Maybe Europa should consider the Mercantile Life is a cover. Merchants after all, aren't faction leaders. Trading can be very profitable but being the ruler of numerous colonies is sometimes kinda expensive. Europa needs to spread her wings. When she considers Pirate and Pather bases are bad for everyone's business, she can either hire mercs or open bounties (we can't) or just let her inner Valkyrie show them the consequences of their actions. Does this mean she should accept Bounties? _Well I did and it certainly helped; besides it's fun_ But Europa might need to do things to help her colonies that she never anticipated as a little girl. 😬

Does any really understand the Missle Autoloader mod? Seems like increase burst capabilities but you loose a few total misses?

It might be one of those "just try it and it'll make sense" but this tooltip and the old ballistic rangefinder tooltip might as well have been written in sanskrit.

do you know how to make a deal with kanta ? there's one option that isn't very expensive

also on colonies don't spent story points in industries only on the megaport its easily the best

Yeah they know. There's a poll posted about this. I voted to concede to the pirates for now, but most people voted to keep slogging it out with the Pirates lol

@@G33KST4R If you deal with the bases as they are discovered, you can keep the debuff down to -1, -10%. You can achieve this w/o using AI cores. But when it gets this bad, maybe temporarily buying them off is a good idea. However, if you make a deal with Kanta, how do you break the deal???

colony threat needs some rework honestly, too anti-sandbox, you either take care of it yourself or it gets out of hand

I actually like the pressure it applies (I don't have experience with older patches), but I wish there were more ways to mitigation the effects. Be that direct player actions or indirect system that could be implemented. Was your system with a few planets much safer in older patches?

@@GrumpyThumperGaming I was aware of those choices and I don't like it, ultimately its you who is reducing it because at some point you cannot just rely on the passive decrease, keep in mind at the start you had no special items or AI cores installed and it went up furthermore you are kneecapping the colonies you are already losing money on which makes them becoming profitable even later into the game meaning the grind for credit will linger around for even longer and diminishes the point of special items and AI cores, you already have the hegemony coming for your cores now you are just losing stability for having them passively or you pay right? which is again just delaying the point where your colonies become profitable or you are not doing either of those things and your colonies just wont do a thing but lose you money meaning that is not even an option, you are FORCED into this and that is my problem
