Beautiful dash cam footage and thanks for reminding me. I need to start preparing my refrigerator instead of buying everything at Walmart while I’m on the road save a little bit of money and eat a little bit healthier make room for more donuts. I’m guessing you obviously got the truck fixed so that wasn’t too bad, if you get a chance, give us a little update on how you have all your wires for your ELD and your tire monitoring system. I’m trying to figure out how to clean it all up so I can get rid of this bird nest, USB, cables and DC cables. I’ve got everything running all over the place.
@Mr.AlexKogan5 ай бұрын
Thank you! Of you are at home then it’s better to prep your meals but if you’re already on the road, Walmart is the way to go. I’ll try to add my wiring setup in the video but sometimes I think I have a lot of visible wires too. lol. ELD is the only invisible one. The TPMS monitor is powered by the battery which lasts more than a day and then I just plug in the cable to charge it while driving. I’ll try to show it all in one of my next videos.

Hey Alex new to the channel. I'm wanting to get out of 18 wheeler have 20 yrs experience and into hot shot. Looking at getting my own authority or leasing on with someone. Have done a little research. Was wondering do you have your own authority are leased on. If you have time if you could give me any info would be much appreciated. Enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing 👍 .
@Mr.AlexKogan5 ай бұрын
@@willliamwymola8296 Thank you! I have my own authority, never leased on. Always better to have your own. It’ll be harder to get loads in the beginning but still better to start your own vs leasing on. In my opinion.

Hey Alex, I've been doing a lot of research regarding hotshot and really appreciate you showing how you secure shipments. I've been learning a lot from you! Was curious if you mind telling me what load boards you use on a consistent basis? Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

Thank you! I have a dispatcher that does my load booking but I also keep an eye on a load board called Truckstop. There’s also one called DAT. Those are two most popular ones.

@@AlphaCrewDog Thank you! The standard with most brokers is 2 hours free wait and then the clock starts. They usually pay $50 an hour for wait time.

That’s cool you’ll be like 3 hrs away from Portland Oregon when you’ll be in Seattle 👍 I like the meals you prepped for the road that looks really convenient and healthy especially being on the road all day. One question I have is why you decide to do hotshot trucking on a dually pickup not like a semi truck?
@Mr.AlexKogan5 ай бұрын
The meals are definitely convenient and healthy. The reason I went with a hotshot vs semi is cost. Way more money involved when getting into a semi as an owner operator. Second thing is convenience. I can unhook and go just about anywhere but in a semi you can unhook but can’t go everywhere my truck can. Trust me I think of jumping into a semi right now just because of the comfort of living in it while on the road but there is still so much more cost involved. Plus I hear semis break down more often and are a lot more expensive to repair.
@AlexGidenko5 ай бұрын
@@Mr.AlexKogan yea I actually haven’t thought bout it that way. Semis do break a lot actually too. You should get a custom hotshot truck built with a sleeper cab those are cool and neat 👍
@Mr.AlexKogan5 ай бұрын
@@AlexGidenko I actually don’t like the way those hotshot trucks look and if you’re going to invest to build all that then you might as well get a semi. That’s the way I see it. 😁
