@@treatstreats7149 I think the rule was at 40 you wore it above the shoulders but at 30 it could still be shoulder length. Long hair was for little girls, not for grown women. I’m 50 and just grew mine out in the last 5 years or so since long hair has been in style. I love it long now!

Every time someone asks me what I do and my hair gets so long so quickly my answer is always nothing. However, I don't blow dry, I don't flat iron, I don't wash it every day, I don't put it in tight ponytails, I don't let them down when the weather in windy, I don't let them get snagged by my clothes or coats. I always wash my hair in the morning or midday to let it dry. It's super low maintenance to get your hair to grow but the thing is you have to be okay with your natural hair. I thankfully have loose curls but if you have frizzy wavy hair you have to be okay with it.

I have wavy/curly hair, am 48 going on 49 (full-on menopausal, my mom was 42-44, so I am kind of early), and it's classic length, which means over the booty, I guess like in classical paintings, is where the name comes from. I love my hair and it's so easy. I am a weekly washer, which is even easier. And when I'm up it's in a bun with a hairfork (look that up some time) and when I go to bed, I take it down (so it can breathe a little). I generally put stylers in after the wash. I love my natural texture!

I’ve been using the Kerastase 8 hour overnight serum for a while now. I put it on the bottom half of my hair at night before I put it up. It helps keep my curls (from a curling iron) and my hair is so soft, and never feels weighed down. I do it almost every night, and only wash my hair once a week. I’m in my sixties.

I've been so anxious for this video! I'm 51 and menopause plus 2020 caused over 50% of my hair to fall out! First it got super thick in 2019 when my hormones/estrogen was high then when it bottomed out my hair fell out.. in huge clumps.. it was horrifying! I took viviscal for a while then I kept reading about how menopause causes us to get a buildup of the hormone DHT in our follicles so I searched vitamins and products for that and found my saving grace in moon juice superhair & alterna caviar clinical age defying and densifying shampoo & scalp treatment spray. I spent half of last year crying about my hair but it's coming back in really nice & thick. I love the kerastase oil, morrocanoil, virtue labs oil, and lanza healing oil. Thank you for this wonderful video! Have a great day!!! ❤

Hi Lisa… For some reason my earlier post didn’t upload but I love this video. I agree that everyone needs to do what works best for them. I’m your age and have hair very similar to yours - very long and blonde only mine is somewhat on the thicker side. I find that not washing as often, air drying, and getting regular trims really helps- biotin really works for me as well- my stylist is always amazed at how fast my hair grows- which it never did even though I get it trimmed every 4-5 weeks. I also use the Kenra blow dry spray as well as the Kerastase elixir and have been very happy with the results. Everything you mentioned in this video is spot on. I would also be interested in different styles. With summer and warmer weather coming I need to get it off my neck! 🥵 Can’t wait for part two! 💕

Totally agree... such great pointers! Ive had ppl ruin my hair in the past too. And my hair takes forever to grow. It’s naturally wavy/curly too so naturally drier. And greying lol. Your hair looks the healthiest ever btw! Ive got 3 more yrs to grow mine out to where I want it. Probably a tad finer than yours but to my bra line is the goal. I’m going to be blonde again soon!! Finally got my Goldwell colours to do at home! You always inspire me to get better with being a better version of me since letting things go for too many years. 💕💕 Lovvvve your hair now!! Glad I started watching again the last 2 mths. I had watched for yrs before. Loving your excitement & joy lately. So fun😻 Oh... I prefer the beach look too! Much softer hair then as well. I’m currently enjoying Kenra, Goldwell Curly Twist and IKOO No Drama. Smells amazing! I’ll have to get my Kerastase out again too... Love the Ultime oil and a few other in the orange/cream bottles.

Yes, ma'am hormones definitely take a toll!!! I think it helps to take the best care of our hair that we can (eating, the best products that we can afford, less heat), but I don't have the same texture hair that you do...mine is straight, fine textured, has thinned somewhat...but I love learning from everyone. And you were right in pointing out that looking at the hair of young girl's and wishing for that is not realistic for us over 40...but I don't believe that our age group should just cut our hair in pixie's, if that's not what we want. You certainly have beautiful hair.

Your hair has looked so good lately! I love long hair and honestly I don’t think it ever goes “out of style “ always loved Christy Brinkley’s hair I remember as a kid in the late 70s seeing her on magazine covers with the long gorgeous blonde hair and I always loved that look💛💛💛I always did not however love my fine thin hair 🥲but I agree that not using heat to dry my hair has helped tremendously as well as silk pillow cases ! My favorite lately has been using Davines milk spray after I wash it I spray this and use the Keratase oil on the ends and wow so silky and soft and the spray just brings out the beautiful curls in the morning! I’m ordering more things from Davines as they have a new shine gloss shampoo that is supposed to be amazing too😘 I really want an update on Monat too would love if you added this to a video even just a short one because you are the reason I bought Monat and I’ve watched your old videos on it but really would like to know how you feel it helped because it seems like you hair starting growing and looked incredible after using that! Love your beautiful new bodysuit and the jeans and shoes 🧡🧡I missed the whole green shoes for some reason it didn’t pop up on my feed until three days later so strange but they are stunning too💚

Thank you Lisa for sharing your hair knowledge! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I have implemented so many of your products and can't wait for your next hair post. Truly, thank you for all your tested and truthful information. Today I'm ordering Kerastase Elixir. I also bought a hard water shower filter and started using a microfiber towel based on your intel. All: game changers!. 💜

Thanks for a great video, Lisa! While watching I found myself nodding the whole time, ha. I also have blonde, fine hair with a lot of grey coming in (age 56). If I used no products, my hair would just look like grey straw! I have finally grown and improved my hair too - I now air dry, shampoo twice a week, get trims when needed, gobs of Kerastase (my fave is the 8 HR night serum), and moroccan oil or Colleen R on ends. You are right on all counts! Love your videos, keep it up!!

Hello Lisa, just found your video and it’s amazing how the hair industry has managed to brainwash us all these years into damaging our hair to then use their products that do nothing😂Your so right about doing less to your hair is best👍I have finally embraced my gray hair and it’s the first time my hair looks amazing , thick and long😬Kind Regards Coco🙏

Your hair is gorgeous, and I completely agree with not comparing our hair to someone who has a completely different type of hair. Olaplex never worked for me either. I have very fine hair but I actually have better hair now than I did when I was younger... the 2 things i discovered that made my hair thicker, stronger, and grow faster were Maca root pills (which I started taking to balance hormone issues) and by eating as many grams of protein as I weigh every day (which I started doing with adding protein shakes while weight lifting since I am a vegetarian). I am truly amazed at the difference in my hair after adding these items to my diet 2 years ago. I made those changes for health reasons not really thinking they would affect my hair... but definitely appreciate the added benefit! Of course I would recommend anyone talk to their Doctor before trying to add supplements or change their diet (as I did).

I've been waiting for this set of videos! Yes! Thank you for doing this. Good tips. Mine is mid back now..... One thing I'm really dreading are our hot humid summers here. Do you wet your hair when you shower in the summer? I feel like I get so sweaty that it needs to be washed more often then vs less. Wondering how to handle this. You said it's pretty humid there too, right? Love that shade of orange on you and the Tomcat jeans. Fabulous! 💞

I’ve always had fine hair. It didn’t get any thicker during pregnancy, but it didn’t change after, either (thank goodness!). I’m 55 now and just have to color it to keep away the gray. One grandmother didn’t get grays until she was nearly 80- my other grandmother was fully gray in her 40s. In the warm weather I forgo drying as much as possible. It definitely looks thicker when I use product and blow dry it. I do like Lanza Healing Effects for volume. 💕

I got an error posting this comment, so trying again, and I don't think an earlier comment went through either. I sometimes get this, and it's so weird! My mom was 42-44 when she went through menopause. I got issues age 47 and right now 48 (going on 49), full-on menopausal. I mean, that's it! Back when my mom went through it, osteoporosis after early onset menopause just wasn't a "thing" yet. When she was mid to late 50s I told her she was shrinking and developing what seemed like a hump. When she went to the doctor for a pap smear, she brought it up and they *immediately* sent her for a bone density test. It came back full-blown osteoporosis. A calcium tablet wasn't gonna fix that. She needed the big guns, called bisphosphonates. She has been on them ever since, and is 75 now. Can't be without them as she is still very low and they are worried she might break a hip or worse get in trouble with her spine.

Hey Lisa, I hadn’t had my hair cut in a year. I saw my girl two weeks ago and we decided to keep the length. My ends were in need of a trim though. My hair is fine in texture but I always had a lot of it and then menopause happened and ugh 🤦‍♀️. I’m 55 and have very few gray so I do not color my hair which helps to keep it healthy. Air drying and less heat has made such a difference. I will have to try an oil for the ends.
