Just ordered all 3 supreme greens. It's always so exciting waiting for the first greens of the spring to arrive. It'll be nice to taste the Long Jing and Anji Bai Cha Supremes side by side with Imperial Green and Jade Arrow!

Hah, great timing to watch a video on new greens. Just about to start a 3rd steeping in my flute brewer. Drinking a Yu Long green made from the Jin Xuan cultivar that was brought from Taiwan to Yunnan as an experimental tea project and first of this year's harvest. 😊

Don- just wanted to say that as a new person to tea, I really appreciate your videos. Especially value the (no BS) information you provide. Although quite a bit of information to go through, its lots of fun doing it. And bye the way, quite enjoy your enthusiasm.

Hello, I really like your videos. I am very fond of tea, and I took a Sommelier course. However, I lack a lot of experience, especially because in my country it is difficult to get good tea. My native language is not English so if you could leave the spelling of the names of the teas and places you mention in the description (Because the subtitles are not always congruent) it would be very helpful. Many greetings! 🙂

Hi. The places: Zhejiang is the province. Xihu is West Lake. Mei Jia Wu and Shi Feng are the two areas of Xihu which I discuss. The tea is called Long Jing. The other teas mentioned at the beginning are Anji Bai Cha and Zhu Ye Qing.

I prefer the gong fu method of tea brewing, however, I don't sit down and do any ceremonial stuff. I sometimes forget and leave it brewing for far too long, minutes. If I let my first brew go for too long will it null the subsequent brews ? Or can I continue the 2nd , 3rd ... as usual? Thanks
@yesfinallygot12 жыл бұрын
in my experience, oversteeping the tea will make the next brews flatter. Depends on how much longer you accidentally brew though. I would suggest trying to be more present and in the moment when brewing the tea. it doesnt have to be a ceremony or anything, just keep an eye on timing. Of course, you can still drink the flatter brews but it's not really getting the best flavor out of your (probably expensive) tea. Hope that helps!

$1.48 per gram? Is this a joke? I regret to say this, but Mei Leaf has been turning into a snob tea vendor.
@mst22032 жыл бұрын
Mei Leaf has always been a top shelf tea seller and real west lake longjings are very expensive. Where have you been?
@MeiLeaf2 жыл бұрын
We will be getting our 2022 Zhejiang Long Jing in shortly with a much more affordable price point. We are very conscious of finding the best teas while always factoring in their value. This is why we have not sold a Xihu Long Jing for years - their price is generally over inflated due to the Xihu brand. This tea just captured us and we had to buy some. Similarly, our Supreme range of Greens are all the absolute highest grade and are crazy expensive for us to buy but we have our main selections coming at much lower prices.

@@mst2203 well, I've been here for quite a while, my friend. West lake longjings are something perhaps nobody on this planet is in need of. With good marketing strategies one might, on the other hand, develope a strange feeling of missing out on an unbeliavably good tea. Which is never the case, because snob teas are not better. I have tried but a few!
@mst22032 жыл бұрын
@@AhimSaah I respectfully disagree. The teas Mei Leaf offers are always top quality. I have ordered from many of the other popular vendors and they are often broken, tasteless, and very hit or miss. Yes Mei Leaf is often pricey but you can always guarantee you're going to get a good tea.
