Great review. I've been painting my nails every two weeks for about 20 years (LOL). I used to exclusively use OPI until they changed their formula. Now I use Essie for the most part but if I use other brands, I always use the Essie topcoat.

I have found using a gel base and top coat works best. The out the door top coat works great and keeps my polish on 4-5 days with minimal tip wear.

You’re so sweet to reply. I’m currently using Sally Hansen triple strong strengthener. It’s in a green bottle but it’s gel. I had loved one from Revlon that I used for years and it was gel but unfortunately, it was discontinued. With the out the door top coat, it likes cures the polish to the base coat and nail and I’m also in healthcare, constantly washing hands, etc.

You just intrigued me Arianna!! I have not yet tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel but now I am curious. I am going to purchase some with the top coat use it and then do an OPI VS Sally Hansen. Since I need to purchase and wear before a review video this will probably not come out roughly for another 3-4 weeks ish. 💕

I find indie brands last longer than mainstream. Bees knees, polished for days, kbshimmer, nailed it!, quixotic, ILNP, Emily De Molly, Different Dimensions, just to name a few. Essie wears like crap on me and chips on the same day. I might get 5 days out of an OPI.

Hi! How long do you wait for the polish to dry between the coats?

That’s a great question Barbara! Honestly I don’t have specific time I just wait till it it’s dry and not tacky to apply the second coat. It usually doesn’t take too long. I would roughly say about 5 minutes five or take a few. Make sure the first coat isn’t too thick otherwise it does take longer to dry. When applying the second coat it will give you more color pigmentation so the first coat does not need to be too thick! I hope this helps!

I have the infinite shine prostay primer from OPI, but I don’t feel like it’s absolutely necessary.
