Welcome to my neighbourhood! So weird seeing a KZbin video of basically my town haha. Also, in case you weren't aware, in the under cover area of Mar shopping where you were, there is another bank of slow chargers on the Ikea entrance side in the same parking aisle. About 8 of them

Hello Gareth, Yes, you are correct. I completely forgot about the other chargers near Ikea 😂

Nice that you have so many L2 chargers available there. I believe that abundant L2 charging is the ideal scenario for tourist destinations. I live near a fairly poplar tourist destination (Destin, FL, USA) and there is definitely a lag in the installation of L2 chargers here and the nearest supercharger is over 20 miles away (although a 12 post, V3 SC is slated for 2024).

Destination chargers are great at these type of locations, as the Superchargers are too quick here 👍

Have you ever done a video driving from Portugal to the Uk? I am planning to buy an ev and drive from the Uk to portugal but i am quite scared because of the different cards required for different chargers
@marcusevjourney566 Жыл бұрын
Hello, no, I have only done videos in Spain and Portugal. In Portugal, you should order a Miio card before you come, even if you have a Tesla. It will work on all Portuguese chargers. I definitely recommend that you get the card and not just the app. As I have heard of people who had issues with the app.

I drove to Portugal in January from Uk Portsmouth-Santander ferry down to the Algarve and so easy with a tesla The miio card is good if you don’t have a tesla

Same here, did France, Spain, Portugal and back to Bilbao with no problems in a Tesla. Had a Miio card for Portugal but only used once. If non-Tesla, get an Electroverse card from Octopus as it covers most chargers in France and Spain. Also recommend a Blip & Go transponder for Spain and Portugal tolls.

Definitely not enough fast chargers at the motorway. This is why the Tesla Superchargers are not opened for non-Teslas.

charger tourism - a new hobby ? Here we do not have these queques - more a steady business where Tesla and other charger groups can better plan and adjust their growth plans to demand. I have never waited on a charger in over 4 years, so can not complain. The last 4 years have been here a constant public debate about too few chargers here and there but that were fake news cause if you checked the app you can easily see the used slots which are usually here in our 200 km region just a few if I set the filter to 50+ kW. So few of them are used that I wonder how they can make a business with profit. And once a month someone is complaining about too few chargers here and there even thought when is a charger really missing ? If a charger is used only 40% a day which would mean in general 10 hours than that can be called a high usage cause we can not add the 8h during night like normal usage hours. 40% of a day = 10h out of 16 h and that would man 5 / 8 or 63% - but who should invest another 100 k for the one that might have to wait at 12 am when everbody wants to charge while eating ? Portugal is different due to a lot of foreign tourism or tourist invasion, those who arrive at the airports, then the campers and nowadays even EVs. And I guess Portugal and Spain have their holidays late in the summer and all regions at once which is also differently here where we have 16 states and each state has its own holidays to avoid the italian alta stagione where everyone will have holidays. Those 16 states equal 1 to 17 million that get holidays over a 6 week period so the first start in june with 6 weeks and the last early August. Therefore we have a smaller rush season and less summer vacation orruns the chargers. We had a great summer til mid of july when we faced 4 weeks of rain that killedthe harvest of grain and what not. But you had constant top weather on your journey. When will you do a 6 months or 1 year review of the tesla model 3 with lfp battery I guess ?
