How does the C81 change codecs? Does it automatically chooses the best supported codec?

It automatically choose the priority codec on your headphones.

The sequence for the codec matching is: aptX-Adaptive>aptX-Low Latency>aptX>SBC. If it doesn't match, it will move on to the next codec.

Is that the Logitech A50X? If so, we don't suggest you use our C81 to work with this headset. Please find some other dongle that works with the Logitech.

Why does sometimes my AirPods not make sound when still connected

You need to make sure your device is using its USB port for audio input / output. Pls check the device audio settings. If still need help, contact avantree support.
