I love hearing you pronounce the foreign names of these characters , so eloquently . It’s seems like you speak those languages without any effort . I love languages and hearing them , in their tempo, is like music.

Many years ago I read about the Yusupov black pearls (probably in Naderhoffer), I was intrigued at the time but they faded off. This piece brought all that back to me. Your writing is great and the presentation is just right. Your enthusiasm comes across wonderfully in your narration. And your research is absolutely top notch This is simply one of my new favorite pieces of history writing on KZbin. What great work and what a great new find for me. Thank you

Thank you so much! Your comment totally made my day. :) I'm glad you appreciated all the research. I still wish I had a better answer as to where the pearls ended up, but that's part of the fun of this project. I never quite know where a story is going to take me when I start it!

I don’t know what caused one of your vids to show up in my recommendations, but 5 vids later, and I’m hooked. You have interesting topics, a very pleasing voice, and excellent research. Subscribing as soon as I finish writing this post. I haven’t gone through all of your channel yet, so forgive me if you’ve already talked about this; any chance of doing something on the list Faberge eggs? I’ve always been intrigued by them. I’ve done a bit of research on my own ( YEARS AGO), I’d love to hear your take on the topic. Ok, off to sub, then watch more!!!!

So glad you're enjoying my videos! I normally stick to wearable jewels and royal women who don't get as much coverage as, say, the original owners of the Faberge eggs. But if I found one with a killer story (multiple owners, maybe some scandal, maybe some espionage?), I'd definitely look into it because I'm a sucker for a good story. If one of the eggs fits the bill, let me know! :)

@@TheGirlintheTiara I wish I did. I didn't know anything about her until I found out about the northern branch of the family as a teenager. I was looking into colleges and discovered Widener University near Philadelphia.

@@gemmafollows Isn't it strange how family stories and lore just get lost over the generations? I reached out to a descendant of Gertrude Boyce-Thompson's to ask about the black pearl necklace, and it didn't ring a bell there, either. If I do anything awesome in life, I'm making sure everyone knows about it! ;)

I absolutely adore what you've done & could keep watching everything you present, but as constructive advice or just as personal preference, could you consider adjusting the verbal tonnage at times seems disproportionately comedic rather than a preferable calmness to match your soothing voice, you just sound overly forced happy it's not allowing me to become fully immerged in the era
