"Longa Riad" Featuring The Air Force Strings

Composed by the iconic 20th century Egyptian composer, Riad Al Sunbati, "Longa Riad" is a piece that demonstrates our commitment to musical diplomacy. When the former Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General David L. Goldfein (retired), hosted counterparts from the Arab world, the Air Force Strings were asked to provide musical selections specific to his guests' culture that would set the tone for diplomatic discussions. The Air Force Strings were able to do just that thanks to Master Sgt. Luke Wedge, who graciously arranged the piece for the ensemble. Full of exciting dance rhythms and special effects (watch out for the viola solo), this piece was a big hit with General Goldfein and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy performing it.
