I really enjoyed this video. I'm 78, have a masters in reading and ESL, and learned---that practicing the dictation exercise would help a person improve his/her ability to recall. One is never too old to learn. Thanks!

From my experience of learning English as a foreign learner, I highly recommend exposing yourself to the language through movies and any other audio-visual content, this helped me get used to the pattern of that language and gave me a huge advantage among other learners who were learning English in a straight forward and boring method.

This was a great addition and gave me new insights to not only become a better speaker, but it also gave me the tools, I feel everyone needs, to become a better listener as well, not only for course work, but in my personal life as well. Thank you so much. I look forward to learning more and becoming a better communicator as well.

I am really happy to know that I can refer this material to as many number ofs students with doubts nowadays and do encourage them to watch these. Sometimes some of the even most brightess of students have doubts at times on how to Listen effectively during exams but are happier and feel confident after having watched them. you never stop learning....Great examples and solutions exposed!!! These days employer don't train one properly and its a fast pace learning when get new job. You really have to relie on good listening skills to understand the important aspects of the job. It requires detail analysis. If you have poor listening skills then its really difficult to catch up on your duties. May create a bad impression from the start. As days pass by ;employer's expectations increases... poor listening may cost your job...

Hi Scott, I watched your video with my 13 year old. We did your test together and he surprised me by getting 90 percent correct. I did better than I thought. We will be implementing this to our weekly programme. I found I was particularly focused watching your video. All the best.

This really impressed me "hearing and listening" 2 different things. I totally agree with this quote. I think when you attempt to listen to someone carefully, visualizing plays a significant positive effect.

Some tip(s): In my university days in one of my law subjects and business on the topic of "Obligations and Contracts". I still have on my mind the effective ways of memorization in order to "A's" the exams. Cheating was unknown in my school days because of the intellectual challenges. I find them very effective. I've been retired and am talking about more than half the century ago of studies and experiences, and yet, I still have the tips of remembering things that our professor in that particular subject taught us in achieving "A's" in any exam, Here, again, it's the manner the teacher and/or the presenter making the presentation so effective, motivational, interacting, and learning enjoyable and not boring. Keep up, teacher and thank you for posting this on youtube,

Wow, I watched it for 48mins! The way he delivered the class was engaging. He is a good teacher who knows how to design and conduct the class. On the audience side, I think my problem is selective listening which I noticed some times when not the rest. Good solutions proposed.
