1. 210 Method, after every heading, rate yourself on how good you are at it from a 0-2, your goal before the test should be to have all of them as 2's 2. Reduce, if there's a page where there are just bulks of definitions and value-packed into one, then reduce and create an outline with the main idea on the side to study easier. If it's the opposite where the author is just dragging and milking one topic over and over again, then write down that one idea in 1 brief sentence. 3. Highlight in the correct way. Not too much, not too little, don't continuously highlight the keyword. You are supposed to 1. Chain words together to form new sentences. 2. Don't highlight whole sentences. 3. Don't highlight while reading, read minimum 2 pages and then highlight that part 4. Make flashcards. Make sure that you give me yourself a + or - 3 times in a row in spaced repetition. Give yourself a + if you got it correct and quick, give yourself a - if you got it wrong and late.

I love studying, but it has always been a struggle, no one has really explained me the right way to improve my studies. My teachers in Italy, always said that you have to be brought to the study. I really wanted him as a teacher and save me from believe to such unfair statements. Anyway I never stop loving study and it is never too late to get better. All the teachers should be like him. You can tell immediately that he loves helping students.

SUMMARY "2,1,0"Method-read 1section,then read heading out loud, close book &out loud try explaining what you read, give yourself a score of 2,1or 0. 2=good 1=ok 0=terrible Use score to see what areas you need to focus/revise most Reducing-put definitions in your own words, put on flashcards/cover & test yourself.Write summaries in your own words.

Hello. In 1985-1989 I was studying "Mathematics applied" at Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine. I always used "2,1,0" method to prepare exams of High Mathematics, Theory of Probability, Differential Equations... First I read a theorem and its proof and tried to understand logic relations and conclusions. Then I closed my copybook and tried to restore all information on a blank sheet of paper. Then I compared original text and my notes to find errors. I repeated this cycle till to have no errors in my notes. This method was working perfectly!!! During one week I could study all information of one subject, given during 4-5 month and I had the best notes (exception - my first 5 month at the University). Now, when I study any course of programming - I always highlight definitions and the most important information - lately it helps me to revise fast all information... So, I can prof your words by my experience of successful studying. Thank you very much for interesting lecture.

if this is how they teach in college. I guarantee i'll do better in college than high school. This guys a great teacher, explains things really well, and i completely understand everything he's saying. High school,,, zips through subjects quickly, and all the teachers use the excuse "Well this is how they teach in college!" well apparently not. You're just using that as an excuse to not teach. Too bad because of high school teachers "Preparation," i won't even make it to college...

• "2,1,0" Method ○ After you finish reading after the heading of the chapter, do not go to the next heading right away. Cover your book and recite everything that you have remembered. After that, open the book, see if you did well. ○ You may rate it either 2, 1, or 0. § 2 - GOOD § 1 - OKAY (50/50) § 0 - TERRIBLE ○ Where do you put the rating? § You may mark the headings directly on your textbook. § Write the chapter headings on a piece of paper and rate. ○ How do I track? § You may do something like this: Chapter Heading - 0X - 1X, 2 □ Why? ® It shows progress, encourages you, and build your confidence. ○ BUT, it doesn't work with all subjects, like MATH. • Reducing ○ Putting definitions or information in a summarized for, more of a your own words. ○ When is it good to use this? § When there are so much details. • Highlighting ○ When you highlight do you do it right? ○ What are you supposed to highlight? ○ Why? What is the purpose? § Go back and read out loud the words you have highlighted and you'll be able to know if it's a good highlighting. 1) Chain words together to form new sentences. 2) Don't highlight entire sentences. i. Highlight after reading to see what really needs to be highlighted. 3) While reading, put the highlighter done. i. After 1-2 pages, pick the highlighter and highlight. • Flash Cards ○ Give yourself a score: Plus (+) and Minus (-) § Plus - Immediately § Minus - Wrong or Right but Hesitated □ But it's so tiring, ® No, there's a GOAL. ◊ 3 PLUS IN A ROW. ○ Let time pass to test yourself. Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is how I was able to summarize everything.

I hate it when i already highlighted almost like the entire sentence then at the end of reading i knew i should have highlighted only few words. So what i did instead is i underline or encircle it because obviously you cannot highlight it anymore. We can also draw brackets to enclose ideas & then use reducing methods to simplify.
