Very nice, i enjoy you description of what causes slop. If your ever come to anchorage hit me up and we can do some mountains no matter the season. It would be nice if you had soem hand-operated brakes.btw maybe a nice long mountain cruise vid with a coool soundtrack. This channel is gives me an edge over my other skaters

Are the loose kingpins from wear and tear or do you think they were designed that way for some reason?

100% wear and tear. I've gone back and fixed everything up, and I uncovered a lot of evidence of hard riding. The kingpins that I took out were bent, truck mounting hardware was bent, the aluminum brackets for the bindings were bent. Only thing not bent was the axles. This board had been ridden a lot, and really hard.
