Longest freight train in the UK

Eight locomotives pulling a 90+ car train near Little Salkeld on the Settle and Carlisle line headed by 66174. The jittery video is caused by Railworks slowing right down when creating excessively long trains.

PNWRailfan they run 2 mile coal trains in the US now to save money. They are so long that if there is too much coupler strain they will rip apart.

Heh, I was actually referring to the lucky-dip consist ... tanker follows unbraked victorian coal wagon follows nuke flask follows intermodal low-loader follows brake van follows timber wagon follows.... etc. Where, and indeed who, are they delivering all that to? ;-) As for the couplers, given the rather poor strength of a typical UK example, and particularly on those old coal trucks where it was just a bit of chain with the buffers for tension, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find some of them being "stretched" if not outright broken (the victorian wagon would likely just be torn in half, in the middle of all that lot). The game's just doing its best to simulate that, without the ability to actually create a broken train.
