"Imagine a world, where you live to an old age, over 100 years old, but you are healthy all the time, you are doing fun things, and you are spending time with your family, and one day you don't wake up. Wouldn't it be wonderful for the individual, for the families, for the economy, for everyone?".
In episode one of Wired UK's four-part documentary series, we delve into the future of ageing; why are certain people able to live longer than others? What makes centenarians unique? How are they able to reach the age that they have? Taking in expert analysis and insights from Dr. Nir Barzilai, Director of the Institute for Ageing Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, this series aims to explore the science behind longevity genes and what this research could mean for the future of humankind.

The only centenarian in my family is my maternal great grandfather (102) but my maternal grandfather died at 83 and my dad died at 61. I'm hoping to at least live until the 22nd century.

People who say they don't want to live forever should still support this because you can always change your mind later but not if you're already dead. I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. Mine is a 500mg per day, NMN by Vitruvin Nutrition. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. Sinclair believes that in the foreseeable future, it's possible for humans to live beyond 120 or even 150, without the frailty, diseases and disability we now associate with old age. See your result and tell the same experience.

Ok but what about the centenarian study in the 🇺🇸 where all the people exhibited the same lifestyle trends as well as the blue zones?

Why is there a shot at the end of the video of a 3D printing slicer (Simplify3D) showing a simple DNA helix 3D model??

Wrong statement at the end: "We can design a drug which will ..." The video showed that family "genetics" seemed to be the strongest common factor. No drugs?

Well maybe with Crispr and gene editing it will be possible.

A drug and a treatment, it won’t be a regular drug like an antidepressant, antipsychotic… Probably regenerative medicine using gene therapy, crispr, stem cells and BCIs along with other technologies to monitor and keep the body alive but not just alive, alive and healthy

For the last few months, I've been taking one tablet each day of NMN-Vitruvin Health supplement. I'm astounded to discover that my metabolism now functions as well as it did when I was a younger. Other outcomes aren't nearly as visible yet, but I saw a significant boost in energy and concentration. I'm going to order another few rounds from their website. It took around just 3-4 days to see a difference.

to live longer you have to restrict protein, avoid meat, dairy, eggs, poultry, seafood. you have to limit each day's eating window. and also limit the amount of calories you consume. you have to do aerobic and strength training. you have to avoid polluted air and polluted water. you have to practice meditation. your diet should be mainly whole grains and fruits and some vegetables. no technology will help you if you don't do these things. if you do all these things you will live a high quality life, and some technology may come along to help you live a bit longer, but I wouldn't count on it.

Take this pseudo-religious vegan nonsense and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. How are you going to do strength training without protein? Quit spreading misinformation, you illiterate.

may be it's not the genes. May be we're thinking it that way, where it's just survivorship bias.

I don't think I'm comfortable in the way this guy describes ageing. Contraction of morbidity is good to aspire to, but he speaks as if ageing is a disease.
