My father drove trucks as long as I can remember and he was never home and my parents didn't stay with each other they broke up when I was 5. I remember receiving that call from my grandfather saying my father passed away in York, PA at the age of 45. He had a heart attack while his truck was getting unloaded thank god. I was 20 at the time, I am now 22 and just like my father I drive truck now too. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this and for the word of thanks from you all

This video is great, my dad was also a truck driver, out of Wisconsin. Some of my best memories of him was traveling in his truck. We would listen to all the classic country radio stations. Red Sovine was our favorite, Yes I was a Daddys girl. I always wanted to drive a big rig just like him. He passed away in 2013. And I played "that's my job" at his funeral. Thanks for the video. You pulled at my heart strings.. But in a good way RIP.. Daddy

Dad is a trucker now for 50 plus years. He asked me to not become a driver... 19.5 years later I wish I had listened. But that’s my job. I always wanted to do what he did. And thanks again to the old school drivers for paving the road for me and to try to fill those shoes. God bless

Even though we fight a lot i still love him.But I never know what will happen when he's driving and I always worry about him. I dont know what I'd do without him in my life. Drive safe dad!

Brandon shepard that was AWESOME, you study like he tells you and do what he says cause he wants you to have it all you know, he loves you and he knows how dangerous this job is so just do as he tells you, but make up your mind when you get older, you could drive for a farmer around where you live when you turn 18 to get some practice in. you don't make much but it's a job, meantime make sure you practice regular driving real careful so you can be better than others when you get behind a rig wheel!

Love this song. Lost my dad in 2015. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic. My early years he was the mechanic after us 3 kids got a little older he drove so he had more time with my brothers. I got married and was only around him on weekends and yes when I was a little younger 12-15 I went with him on short hauls and I did spend time with him and mama on vacations. He moved in with me and my daughter after my husband passed very unexpected and my mom had just past 5 months earlier. Best time I’ve ever had with my dad we had him another yr and 4 months after my husband. I sure do miss you daddy.

Thanks for reminding me of younger days. My dad was a truck driver for many many years and I always looked forward to weekends that I could ride in that truck. Thankfully Dad is still here. Although he has given us a good scare, once or twice. The last was just 3 weeks ago. Thankfully it wasn't yet his turn. I remember all the other truckers at his work had CB's. But with a family of 10 he couldn't and wouldn't spend the money on a Cb. So when I got a job I got him a Midland CB and a handle.
