Interesting discussion about what is a super compressor watch case. BTW. I have been SCUBA diving since 1974. Before there were dive computers there were depth gauges. Yes we were dependent on our dive watch to monitor our time at depth. We carefully planned our dives with a maximum time at any depth. So yes you're absolutely right. Our dive watch was an important tool.

Wow! Those are all awesome, but that blue dial SuperSport is my favorite. It looks more teal on the website photos but on your wrist it’s a gorgeous blue. The orange hands and markers go perfectly with that dial and strap, love it!

The field watch is superb - easily one of the best of its type I’ve seen. Good to see the quick-release on the straps and bracelets, too - so much easier than futzing around with a spring bar tool, especially if your manual dexterity is not the best.

Really nice watch. I hesitate to pull the trigger on a compressor just because they wear larger than traditional rotating bezel divers but maybe one day. PS any chance for a blue aventurine/ goldstone dial Brookville? That would be amazing. PPS You're absolutely right about the Challenger. Richard Feynman proved that very clearly.

I‘ve had an Aquasport 2 in blue/orange for a year - beautiful watch, fantastic quality, best lume of all my watches (incl Rolex, Omega, Seiko, etc). Highly recommend it. The dial with its wave pattern also has a sunburst - looks fantastic in the sea during the summer.

I had a Casio in the late 80’s with a rubber gasket under rotating bezel which you screwed down depending how deep you wanted to go. Yeah that gasket didn’t last long and neither did the watch unfortunately lol😅 I was only a kid back then.

The blue one looks great with the orange! 0:11 Gla-shoot?? Glashütte means glass hut. If you can't say Ü just say U (like in hood). The E at the end sounds like a very very short A. The first syllable is pronounced. GLASS-hootta, the oo short. Btw, it's the same with Porsche. Not Porsch, not Porschee, more Porscha. ;-)

There has been much fuss about the 39mm Longines Legend Diver reissue (not a cheap watch), originally a Super Compressor but not in reissue form. You have to give great credit to brands like this who go the whole way. I already own a proper Super Compressor made by Christopher Ward and I intend to add one from this brand and from RZE who also make the real deal.

It's similar but different. With an Amphibia the "spring" is actually the flattened gasket made from sintered rubber which is compressed by the caseback on descent and then expands again as the pressure eases on ascent. A still ingenious solution. The sintering allows the gasket to compress and expand repeatedly without damage. Also the way the caseback is initially tightened minimises the risk of damage to the gasket by any shearing force. You can look up a full article about the Amphibia written by an engineer which describes how the designers used different solutions to the accepted norms so that the watch could be made cheaply. Well worth a read.
