That was my favorite part of the movie, because Longleg's cavalier attitude suggests that he's entirely unbothered, even when his plan didn't see it's completion. You'll notice also that it isn't a flashback, but an entirely new scene altogether. To me, this is Longlegs in spirit being so confident that he mocks his own death, saying the same last words before ending it with a saucy wink and a kiss instead of banging his head against the table because he's had his way, made his sacrifices, got off scott free, and still persists in spirit. It suggests that he knows something that no one else does, and he is unafraid because of it, which is an excellent end to an enigmatic character
