There's still too many sports games left.. I'm trying to plow through some of them. This is NBA Courtside 2002, one of many NBA franchises on the system. Oddly enough, this one was exclusive to the GameCube system and it features it's own little theme song which you can hear during the main menu. I'd say these graphics look pretty good for a game released in the first month of 2002. I found the credits to be quite entertaining too

I don't know why but NBA courtside games had some nice little songs in the menu. Played them so much they stayed stuck in my head almost 20 years later 😂

it's so sick how well this game portrayed the Staples Center vibe of that early 2000s era. From Lawler on the call (he was the clippers announcer for local broadcast at the time) to the P.A. announcer for Staples Center being the same in this game as he was in real life, to the lighting and suite level of the stadium being accurate, it was just so well done

I loved the gameplay and animations of this game so much that even in 2003 and 2004 I would create players to try and update the rosters. Kobe actually did some motion capture for this game so when he's shooting freethrows you know its him. All time favorite NBA game

Gamecube graphics felt so beautiful compared to PS2 then, i remember pausing the game and just staring at the ball rotating on shots amazed by the details and ripples

Played so much of this game. Loved the physics. Spent most of my time in that arcade mode where if you maxed out the momentum meter you could dunk from 3 with some players

Lawrence Tanner was the best PA announcer that I ever heard. He sounded like a lion speaking. The players and created players were very realistic looking and the audience was a live audience! The moves were also excellent! It also had a fantasy team creation for current players. But, it had no franchise mode, no all-time fantasy team creation(FEW, IF ANY, OLD SPORTS GMS DID), and the AI was quality but slow. If you were fast, knew how to shoot very good, and could play defense on each skill level, then you would obliteratingly dominate that level! You'd be winning every game by 50+ on 5 min Quarters. It is one of those games that, if you were only interested in playing with friends, you'd enjoy it a lot. If you care about playing a season VS the AI, you will find better games and it is still alright!

I think this is the GameCube basketball game me and my friends would play every single day. I know we would always do a draft and draft players and then play each other. It had to have been this game cause I remember Kobe was on the cover. It was alot of fun back in the day. Honestly I didn't remember the game looking this good but I cant find any other NBA games it could of been.

NBA Courtside 2002 is indeed a solid good basketball game for the Nintendo Gamecube & this title was the 3rd final installment of the series after the 1st two games that came out for the N64 from the late 90's then Left Field Productions would never work for nintendo again after this game was released on 1/13th/2002. Gameplay modes like..... Quick Play - Select a team or either the Western & Eastern all star squad then it's game time. Arcade mode for 3 on 3 like NBA Street, Season Play is where you can play up to 14, 28, 56 perhaps 82 then you have a real good shot at making the playoffs & try to reach the NBA Finals, Playoffs Mode - Select a team then go for the NBA World Championship Title if you want skip the entire 82 Season Mode. Skills Mode - is where you get two modes to play like the 3 point contest & practice mode. Create a player or maybe perhaps change the Rosters - anyway you like to make history just always practice harder. The Voices for NBA Courtside 2002: - Ralph Lawler - Play by Play Voice for the Los Angeles Clippers Van Earl Wright - Color Analyst Lawrence Tanter - P.A. Announcer. 7.5 out of 10 is the rating I'm giving this game but could've added more features like...... Retro Jerseys, Franchise Mode, All Star Weekend Mode along with the 3 point, slam dunk contest, rookie vs sophomores, then it all leads up to the All Star game itself as East meets West, The NBA Hall of Fame is where all of the team & player awards that are earned when you are preforming well while doing franchise mode, Change the gamecube controller configurations, Edit your favorite NBA players including His Airness MJ, May I need to go on?! - Nope!!! - Peace!!!

@@Ninja0492 naw I’m fr create a player and then start a season…….as you play nba games in your season your created player will unlock skill points…..you start off with a couple of skill point so you won’t be that good at first but after about 5-10 games you could be a solid one two punch with somebody
