All music had to be muted due to copyright since Rob Zombie did some of the soundtrack, and I had to cut part of the ending for Rob zombie since its just a music video of him This game was the hardest Twisted Metal I ever played, especially the final level against sweet tooth, I actually had to do manipulate the special attack for calypso so that I was able to do massive damage if I freeze an enemy and detonate the nuke in a specific spot so that it doesn't throw the enemy across the map and by keeping them still when it goes off it does so much damage it can kill most enemies and bosses in 1 or 2 hits from that

@Wriok Müller you have to freeze them and detonate the nuke directly above them so they dont get blown away from the blast, making the hitbox of the blast constant the entire time

it is very precise timing, i recorded this on an emulator with savestates so whenever i messed up i could always try doing it again

This game is my childhood. One of my favorite games ever, such a shame it didn’t get a remaster. I thought 4 was the best of the entire series, and one of my best gaming memories ever involved this game. Here it is for anyone interested. Back when I was a kid, my family wasn’t the most fortunate so we had a single tv in the living room, and we could only play the console when no one was watching. Most days that’d be anywhere from 30 mins to an hour, two if we were lucky. I remember one day in particular, someone called my mom, and she said I could get on while she was busy on the phone. Of course I turned the tv on and got to work immediately, using my favorite character Calypso. I picked to play with an NPC teammate for the extra help since my brother wasn’t around at the time. With every level, I was advancing, trying my best to beat the game. Playing anxiously cause I knew my mom wouldn’t be on the phone forever and I had no memory card. Would lose a life here and there; was super excited every time a name appeared on the screen in big letters and I was about to fight a new boss. Certain levels/bosses are particularly memorable like the very first one, 2nd Moonbuggy, The Bedroom level with the RC Car Boss with the huge laser on his back, Amazonia with the barrel monkeys, The Tank Boss, and of course the last one(GOAT). I couldn’t believe it when I made it to Sweet Tooth, but I only had a life or two at that point. I tried my best to no avail, I just couldn’t beat him, one of the hardest bosses ever. I remember one attempt when I had him up against a circus tent on my last life, and he was too close for my special but I took the chance anyway. He had only a fingernail left but I died on my last life, I was pissed... I decided it wasn’t going to happen and restarted the game with a new character/strategy. I picked the girl who drains your life as her special, since I figured surviving was the key. Never even used her prior but I was determined; a kid with a vendetta. After another long grind, I made it to Sweet Tooth again, with a life more. At that point, I couldn’t believe my mom was on the phone all day, and I was just happy I made it. Tried my hardest and couldn’t beat him still…never did. His special was just so overpowered. Had to give up and get off but I never forgot that day. Always told myself I’d buy it one day and go back to beat it. See, I was a kid then, didn’t know of the cheats/exploits like the freeze ball; every secret spot was found by chance too, so my whole experience was organic. Nostalgia with this game is truly special. All the sounds, split screen memories with family, and my own moments were the greatest. They don’t make games this creative and fun anymore. Simplicity is forgotten and passion behind the game is rare now. They nailed it in every way, especially the sound effects! Underrated part of game creating. Thought I’d share my long ass story to anyone who’s reliving their childhood right now, or wishing they’d remake this one like me!

I watched the whole entire video on my TV lol. Me and my brother spent hours playing this game on ps1 as kids. I don't ever remember any levels past the first 4... so idk if we just didn't care to find out or if we just couldn't beat the bosses. My mind is blown away though... the individual cut scenes when you beat the game is absolutely amazing. The time you put in this game and video is epic! I wondered why you took the music out on the settings, but I realize it now after watching and seeing your comment. Twisted Metal 4 and Vigilante 8 Second Offense are probably my 2 favorite games on the ps1 as far as those types of games. But damn, your strategies were good. As a young kid playing these games... we would never think about stuff like that and thats why It's awesome to look back at all this as an adult. Great 1 hour watch, thanks for the nostalgia 👌

I remember playing and I think I used some cheat codes and got infinite weapons and ammo and launched a crap ton of those ricochet bombs and they would bounce all around the level and blow up the enemies. Good times. I like how in the bedroom level there is a TV on and it's showing your gameplay.

Fun fact: apart from freezing attack, jump and shield there is a "backwards attack" where you could launch weapons backwards and it happens that it uses the last used item, so with it you could launch specials backwards as long as you have "energy", even when you already used all you weapons

I had such a love/hate thing with this one. 989 Studios really missed the mark in terms of tone and engagement. It's not bad at all, but there are so many missteps that for TM veterans, it's a bittersweet experience.

aside from making all the cars shine like they were dowsed with turtle wax, the ramming mechanics ruined a lot of the fun. not sure in TM4 but in TM3 the ram damage that minion would do to grimm would be the same as vice versa. so somehow a tiny motorbike would suddenly have the same amount of armor as a tank if hit on directly... oversights like that made me glad the series went back to the right hands
