Love this whisky! It's one of the best buys around, high quality, really complex and sells for only $50 US.

It's definitely up there as one of the best value drams I've tried!
@TheReal_DeanD5 жыл бұрын
Man you are so lucky to get the Longrow Peated at $50 USD. Right now in Total Wine by me they've raised the price to $70 from $52 a year or so ago. I'm not sure for the price increase but for as good as this is to me it is not $70 good.

I was gonna buy the Port Charlotte 10 year old next but probably gonna get this instead, sounds like a great dram, great review Vin and even better gag reel lol👍
@NoNonsenseWhisky6 жыл бұрын
Both drams are pretty great but, for me at least, the PC10 is quite a bit more expensive than the Longrow and still really good

Excellent review, Vin. I haven't tried any Longrow, yet, but it sounds like a cracking dram. Loved the bloopers, again. Some days, things just don't flow as smoothly, aye? I had a moment like that a few days ago. I was making a crust for some quiches I wanted to bake, and I misread the recipe and unthinkingly added 2.5 cups of cold water instead of 2.5 teaspoons. To say I was upset is a bit of an understatement. Butter is expensive here, comparatively, since it's all imported (mostly from grass-fed cows in New Zealand for some odd reason). Not to mention all the time and work that went into mixing the cold butter and flour by hand. Anyway, enjoyed the review and I'll see you at the next one!

😂 I don't usually drop swears but I left it last minute to record again so felt the pressure to get it out . Good opportunity to get the cork sound out though!

Ain't that the constant battle! Over here we good amount of bourbon, but I'd love to get more of the stuff that's available in the US (for the same price)

The CV was amazing! I haven't tried this one, but it sounds like there might not be as much impressions from different finishes as in the CV. Nice review🙂

Pretty solid stuff this! Got my first bottle of it 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it a bit quickly, getting through half the bottle in the first week, so had to stash it away to make it last :P Amazing nose, and while I enjoyed it straight away, it definitely got better after the neck pour and sitting open a bit. We're paying about €55 / 598 SEK over here in Sweden for it *when* we can get it. In the company it keeps price-wise, I think it's a great bottle, and would definitely buy again :) Cheers Vin!

Can"t go wrong with this one, mate, yes ! -I have to say that lighed board is really a plus on your channel, and you might also play more with it....maybe in fun or informative inserts during your review (edited for sure, not during it), not only in the begining, sorry just a crazy idea...Cheers, Vin !

Whisky to spread on toast. Heavily peated? I think so, for sure. But the whisky is so rich that the peat is just the support act and not the main event. Looking forward to the Springbank & Hazelburn reviews

Hmm. I'll put this on my list to try as an alternative to my normal Ardbeg and Laphroaigs. By me the Longrow Peated Whisky cost $60 to $70 USD and are not widely available. Only certain stores carry them. Also love the blooper reel.

I need to get me some more Longrow for sure
@RebMordechaiReviews5 жыл бұрын
Wow, I had a completely different experience to you. I'm happy you enjoyed it. I didn't! I am really into my Islays, Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength, Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength, Kilchoman 100%, Caol Ila 12/18, as well as isle of Arran's Machrie Moore Cask Strength, Tomintoul's Speyside Old Ballantruan 10/15 as well as the Campeltown Glengyle Kilkerran 8 Peat Cask Strength.......but I found this Longrow very disappointing. Even with water added, burnt plastic! Burnt electrical cable insolation. old fountain pen Ink, old newspapers. After a month I tried adding an ice cube and it was a lot more palatable, showing some fruity sweet and sour notes but still, not very impressive. I'd suggest you skip this and go for the Kilkerran 8 or Machrie Moor 46% abv for roughly the same price but you get far more complexity, richness, range of flavours and balance.
