I´ve used Garmin Virb ultra (the amount of data saved fills up a 256 GB SD card in minutes!) Samsung Gear 360 (the fottage is decent, again the SD cards fill up very quickly, but the worst feature is that the dam thing looks like a dildo on your handle bar LOL) been looking around for recomendations on a decent 360 camera, will give the INSTA360 One R a try after your review! thanks

Insta360, with 360, 4K and 1Inch lenses, for me and so far the best action camera. The editing software which comes with it could be better.

I have an Insta 360 one R it works with the Insta Remote (one x). I have the remote strapped to my handlebar and can easily switch the camera on and off. However, the remote has a small screen and unlick the Gopro remote does not flash when the camera is recording so it can be difficult to see if the camera is on or off.

Nice one! Used cleverly it can really get some cool shots indeed. My main con would be the resolution on 360 since you only use a portion of the captured sphere.

Nice review thanks. As a fellow youtuber I'd have liked to see how the extension pole is attached, how far the camera is away from the bike for those 'pursuit car' shots. I use the GP Max, and mount the camera on a pole in my day pack.

I uses the 1st gopro360 and it still at par with the latest 360 cam. I just took a 60mins 360 and it took 62GB of data. Then needed 700GB of swap space to stitch it together to whatever vid you want out of it. Nice thing is I was able to get sev vid out of it. The globe view, the side view, front and following. Really nice but damn crazy workflow. You can use a celfone but I think you need enough space in it as well.

What do you i need to buy to do the panning shot? Is it a remote control that makes the camera follow you as your turn around the bend of the road?

Nothing extra to buy. You do it all in editing since the camera films 360 all of the time.

Im using one R since 6 months use remote control - is good one. Battery on motorbike is useless it can work without the battery ! so there is good direction to decrease some weight - hope there will be soon the holder to keep it without battery :)

The only thing, possibility two, that is stopping me from buying it is the cost, and if I can't shoot in 2.7K (I say if bc i can not find any info about settings) bc my computer cant handle 4K videos, just 2.7K.

I had a one r and returned it within a few weeks due to lens fogging from DAY ONE and the red eye of death on the 360 mod, basically a load of junk! The GoPro Max is a much BETTER option, feels a much better quality item, quick and easy to swop between 360 and hero mode, plus you DON’T get LENS FOGGING or the red eye of death! All 360 cams make the stick invisible IF you ensure the cam is inline with stick

I've seen 360 videos where the viewer can swipe the screen to change the view to where the viewer wishes to look. It takes the editing artistic licence away from the vlogger but it's great for looking around at the scenery. I presume that can be done with this camera?

You can upload a 360 "original "video straight to KZbin with the ONE R, but I think it should only be used in very specific scenarios.

360 has it's place, but I feel it's over used as the detail included in scenes is sacrificed for wider scope of view. Yes, one can see alot in a 360 shot but the lack of detail is disenchanting. I especially dislike when vloggers use wide angle or 360 cameras when show casing an item such as a motorcycle or car or device. The wide angle or 360 distort so much, that such views are worthless. That is why the smarter vloggers use a separate non wide angle/360 camera when doing so. Keep wide angles and 360s to a minimum please. 😉
