Thank you for the review. I own one since february. Mine is the manuel version with shifter and a 52 liters topbox from kappa. The perfect setup. I love the bike and use it for commuting (100 kilometers per day). Average E10 fuel consumption is 4.8l/100km. It's a great motorcycle and it's very nimble.
@allwheeldrive2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. Considering a GSX S100GT, 1000SX, 9GT, and the NT1100. Here in the US, though, only the 9GT is available for a test ride, at least until the fall! Need to know which one(s) I physically fit on and go from there. But, the NT really seems to tick ALL the boxes. I don't think I'd miss (much) the hp on the Suzuki or Kaw since there seems to be a really accessible mid-range. With the standard features, good looks (yeah, I really like it), great mileage, comfort, reliability, and what seems to be stable handling (how do you find it?), it looks like a real keeper.

Hi,@@allwheeldrive Juste before the Honda NT1100, I was riding the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX 2020. A great motorcycle, that I would have keeped if my wife was comfortably seated behind me It was a little to sporty for her. We tried the 9GT but the one head light and the look of the dash board made me say no. The power on the NT1100 is plenty enough for the type of riding is aiming ( traveling but not racing) and the handling is great. No complaint here.

How is it to cut through traffic with the side panniers? I'm waiting on delivery of mine but I'm still in doubt to commute with side panniers or just the top box. I frequently cut through traffic jams so not really sure on that

Welcome home, I missed you. On this bike, Honda seem to be poorly led of late. Supply chain issues aside, the car and bike range is now very narrow and uninspiring. We lost the lovely Crosstourer shaft drive V4 and the CB1100. I guess everything goes in cycles, a new boss and fresh ideas can't be far away. The trees are very late this year in Romania, tell Dave to pull his finger out.

It is almost mandatory to make a comparison with R1250 RT. Considering the huge difference in prices and even technology, and as you've already tried both... it would be interesting to talk about this comparison and which one would be worth buying!
@redbull4fly7972 жыл бұрын
It is obvious, everything is better on RT except the gearbox (or DCT) and Honda is also a little lighter. If 8k means a lot to you, then Honda is the way to go and better to invest it...if money is't an issue, go for RT.
@robj.m.straathof93412 жыл бұрын
@@redbull4fly797 i do no agree with you. The RT is not better in every area. In some areas. Indeed the DCT is a big plus. Also the Apple Carplay. Its ideal. I hate the app from BMW. Thanks for the quick review. Sounds to me as someone who enjoys getting out and about with a bit of exploration thrown into touring that properly shod with a set of 60/40 road/dirt road tires this could be a good touring solution. Ya gotta have tires that support a bit of gravel and dirt roads to be a touring bike.

Excellent review. Thank you for that. I am considering buying one next spring. I would be interested in your opinion about the handling of the bike in long bends and curves at a relatively higher speed, let's say 80 km/h? Also, how does it handle on bumpy roads? Are you missing the semi-automatic suspension that's included in the Africa Twin?

My 84 BMW R100RT fully factory dressed weighs the exact same amount with a 24 liter tank. Redline is 7000 and in 5th at 4250rpm you are pulling 120 kph and at 4750rpm you are doing 130 kph. The engine loves sitting at those speeds and gives me a 440 km range. I would be interested in hearing what the gearing is like on the Honda twin at comparable speeds? Thank you.🇨🇦

I wanted to like this bike but Honda has given no reason to upgrade from an NC750X. Honda could have taken the best features of the NC750X, frunk, gas tank under the seat, color schemes, but instead they build a Honda Civic on two wheels with fewer color choices. The bike is pure utilitarian with no character and its only redeeming feature is the AT engine. So, pass on the NT1100 but still waiting for the Transalp or Hawk 11 or even an NC850X.
@sunrisejak27092 жыл бұрын
If you do any distance riding on the NC750X upgrading to have cruise control on the NT1100 is a nice justification. 😉👍

@@sunrisejak2709 Yamaha is updating the Tracer 9 GT next year and this appears to be a better bike and value. Honda is falling behind.
@sunrisejak27092 жыл бұрын
@@geneclarke2205 Yes, the Tracer 9GT is looking like a better and better package as time goes on. Honda could have added a lot to the NT1100 but they apparently had cost constraints. The only differentiator is DCT. But somehow Honda has a way of hitting the nail on the head when it seems the market is headed somewhere else. It's risky to bet against Honda. But I surely get your point.
@geneclarke22052 жыл бұрын
@@sunrisejak2709 Yes on marketing, Honda appears to have captured the miniMoto market and is selling millions of these bikes. And, the NT1100 is positioned to be priced under the competition and capture the lower end of the segment. But Honda, would a little extra paint on the bike have killed the budget??? Like red/white/blue or red/white or even black/sliver.
@sunrisejak27092 жыл бұрын
@@geneclarke2205 😁 Yes their color choices seem puzzling. But Honda remains the #1 global motorcycle manufacturer. It's also not without risk or bold moves. The XADV is a good example. Fairly controversial yet it has become Hondas #1 selling model in Europe. Honda also is the only manufacturer pioneering automatic transmissions on large motorcycles. While they seem to be underwhelming and a bit too cautious at times they somehow manage to hit targets that would appear to be way off. The NT1100 has 100 hp. Every bike in this class has significantly more and it would seem suicide to release such an "underpowered" bike yet they plow ahead. Frankly it baffles me. I'm actually a "BMW guy" but the XADV won me over as did DCT and the NT1100 seems to just "work". Honda cars are uninspiring too so they rely on quality and reliability. But agreed things like a red NT1100 is a no brainer. I've got a new XADV on order as well as an NT1100. My "daily" is a BMW F900XR. I probably should have bought a BMW R1250RS but at the moment I've become enamored with the DCT experience. I've had 18 motorcycles in the past 25 years and only 2 were Hondas. So I'm certainly not a Honda fan boy but they somehow succeed in spite of their conservative approach. Sorry for rambling here! 😁
