If the homeowner is found negligent they would bear the cost of the work and if not, the city would have been responsible anyway. But to argue back and forth and delay while owners face real threats to their homes is just lazy governmental irresponsibility. Similar thing happened at a house we bought for the kids. A Karen over the back fence across the alley, decided she didn't like that we had drove through the alley to access the back yard! I think I only ever drove through there a few times in the 10 years we owned the place. The alley dead ended just a few hundred yards past the yard by the drainage canal. She put all manner of concrete yard ornaments and flower beds on the alley just past her garage so she was the only one that could use the alley. We needed the alley access so we could access the back yard as the canal ran alongside the south side and the main highway through town affectively blocked any entry from the street side. Called the police and they referred us to the street dept. They didn't want to address the issue but finally made her remove all the crap. She claimed she was worried that by us driving there it would crush the utilities under the alley! They let her off easy, she must have a relative in city politics.

I'm going to assume that the county and the courts have ordered a survey of the property as no real detail other than the portrayal of what a crime was done. All I can take is the women got upset that a drain pipe was put on her property not a utility easement and cause water to run on her property to the back of the property where a canal exist causing erosion. However some of the videos out there displays one news caster stand on the public right away stating the drain was there was filled. Has anyone of these New Anchors, Courts or County Code enforcement pulled legal descriptions, Property Suveys or title records to confirm these claims?

They are probably past the easement line onto her property. Otherwise, this would have been handled by now. They are hoping she buckles under pressure but it doesn't look like she will. More details will come out in court. Hate it for the neighbors being caught in the middle.

This is actually an extremely serious situation because Florida is highly susceptible to sinkholes due to the soft limestone under the ground, when there’s lots of flooding with nowhere to go, the water will seep underground, it create crevices and voids that wash away the sediment thus creating deep pockets of Sinkholes, sinkholes can range from a few feet to as wide as a football field, swallowing everything from light poles, mailboxes trees, cars to entire houses

No, she needs to go to jail until her court date. City needs o fix NOW and not play stupid games with her. If a massive rain came in all of the sudden, people could die from being trapped. Leave Karen in jail until she agrees to pay.

The community is completely private including its roads and drainage. We have the Wild West of Seminole County developer sweetheart deals to thank for this. They threw this community to the development wolves and never looked back. Even now they keep telling us to “help ourselves.” It’s ridiculous.

As a neighborhood u could make the lady feel so uncomfortable that she moves! Setup road blocks in her driveway when she leaves, have the water drain from the pumps directly to her front door, ding dong ditch every day all day…

Lots of emotion and yes it’s shocking but how does that matter. Is there a legal easement for the drain? That’s the reporting I want to see. If there is an easement in the survey then she is responsible for the damages.

I guess she’s going to be proud of herself that she chose the most expensive way to damage the system. Digging up and jackhammering out all of that concrete is going to cost her tens of thousands of dollars. Or maybe the city will do it and put a lien on her property

this lady must have found out that they never got an easement from the previous owner for the drain pipe when it was installed. If theres no easement then she doesn't need to allow the drain to stay there. All she wanted was help paying for it and the whole neighborhood ignored her so she made it their problem. shes a realtor or something so i can only imagine she knows something the HOA isn't telling.
