RON GRAYSON was the drummer, and he's playing EVERY eighth note with his LEFT HAND (traditional grip)! We used to call this the "finger control technique" and he, along with famed jazz drummer JOE MORELLO showed all of us how to use it musically. LONNIE WAS YEARS AHEAD OF HIS TIME; thanks for posting this!

Thanks youvexme - great name! Well, I'd say that Lonnie On The Move is as good as any a piece of music to kick off a rock & roll radio show! Thanks for your message. Take care.

@guitarandharp Yes it is. I've always known this as ' Lonnie on the move' Dave Simmons used to open his programme on BFBS Radio (Rock-o-la) with this tune.

Is this sometimes called 'Lonnie On The Move'? Whatever, it's fantastic and I believe very influential in how Jimmy Page's taste in drummers was formed, hence his choice of John Bonham. This is classic Mack - many thanks for posting it!

This is a killer drum part. I wish someone would post a dub of this that doesn't skip.

The actual title is "Lonnie On The Move", but it's based on Turn On Your Love Light. The drums are phenomenal. The guitar player ain't chopped liver either. It's too bad his career was eclipsed by the British Invasion shortly after this.
