Thank you so much for watching today's video! While I do mention specific brands here, the main take away from this should be the broader categories and the reasons why I believe they have such an impact. I knew viewers would be curious about what I'm personally using(at the moment!) so I decided to share those. You can find really, really excellent affordable products in EVERY category shown. Feel free to ask in the comments if there is a specific one you'd like a drugstore recommendation for!

Same! I ALWAYS have The Ordinary Argireline in my medicine cabinet. I will never be without it. I just turned 50. I started using that about 3 years ago because I was concerned with my 11’s and my forehead wrinkles. That has pretty much completely eliminated my 11’s, and lightened my forehead wrinkles tremendously. I also swear by their multi peptide serum, their Niacinamide serum, and CosRx Snail Mucin essence. That is an amazing combo for my skin! 😊

I'm using the e.l.f cleansing balm, and it works an absolute treat. I'm using the L'Oreal skincare range,day/night. Like you say,it doesn't need to be the exact same product.,but it does give you ideas to find something you can afford and what works for you. 👍

I hear a lot about how expensive some of these products are so I just did a little math (!!) to see if they really are. My must-have is something I never hear influencers talk about - the Kiehl’s ferulic brew. The price is now $62 for a bottle. But that bottle lasts for six months. That works out to slightly over $10/month or about $2.50/week. I bet that most of the people complaining about cost spend way more than $2.50/week on Starbucks. It all depends on your priorities. To have a 25 year old girl tell me I have beautiful skin (a few days ago) or other similar compliments makes me feel great in my old age and my role as being old and obsolete as per social media. I don’t feel old, obsolete, or invisible, but I understand that society expects me to feel that way. So I love having beautiful youthful radiant skin.

Thank you, Risa for this video! You do try a lot of different things, and do have lots of loves. So I appreciate the way you laid this out. It helps me understand what your basics are and what are your extras! My non negotiables, and they're mostly drugstore: ELF cleansing balm followed by the Basis Facial Cleansing Bar. Rosehip or grapeseed oil. Many of my skin issues cleared up when I started using oil to moisturize, and quit using multi taskers. 🤷♀️ A glycolic acid serum, and a peptide serum. I keep these constantly rotating. Clove essential oil for acne breakouts. I'm Double Nickels and fully menopausal, but I'm still getting cystic acne. 🤦♀️ The clove oil clears up break outs within days. A planer/shaver. Does NOT make hair grow back thicker and coarser! Improves your fave foundation 100%! A great lip balm - overnight, I love A&D ointment. Lots of lanolin and a tube will last *all year. 👍 Primer, foundation, concealer and blush. POWDER and a velour puff. LIPSTICK - the one you can swipe on, and look pulled together, with an otherwise bare face. (Revlon Rose Velvet 130 for me) Fragrance. From vanilla extract to Baccarat Rouge - whatever makes you feel magical. A SMILE and a GRATEFUL HEART. This beauty shines from the inside out!

I love the pinky rose color on your lips. I, like you am a lipstick and blush girl💄 I definitely use a lip liner. I love the Maybelline Colorsensational liner in Magnetic Mauve. It matches so many colors and I sometimes fill in my lips with it and just add Buxsom Gloss. Unfortunately, I have been through every concealer color and brand and there is nothing that works for my dark circles, even with a color corrector 😢 I’ve tried every video and my concealer wears off in about 2 hours. I wish manufactures would try their products on people like me in their 60’s with fine lines, extremely dark circles and dryness. You always look beautiful and flawless. I’m definitely going to try the blush. It looks so pretty on you

Love this video! As someone who has been a bit obsessive with skincare, now in my 50's I have friends and family asking me what they can do. I do similar to what you have done here. Recommend the basics of cleanser, gentle exfoliant, moisturizer and sunscreen. A decade ago or longer, there were blogs / online articles about studies done where a person was shown with no makeup and then with makeup and others were asked what age they thought the person was. Those articles discussed how pale brows and lips and uneven and red pigmentation on the skin made a person look older, and addressing those issues, just as you have done, made people look younger. May I suggest a twist on this video. Yes, you got it. Would your Mom agree to film her 'non negotiables'? Yes, you can recommend them. You already have done videos with her and I have forwarded them to MY mom. It would be a fun twist. As for my makeup recommendation: not drugstore, but the Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously Lucent lipsticks are a great middle ground of pigment and moisturizing lip color that lasts. I have not had a chance to try her newest release All the best ❤

Great nonnegotiables, yet I can customize to my face /skin issues. The Bobbi Brown trick is so good. The first time I finally got lip shade matched was at Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom . All of the girls agreed a blue/ pink ( blue raspberry) was the one. I don’t have perfect white teeth, med skin tone , and brown/ red hair . It was the only one I felt ok to wear . I copy colors I can’t afford , with Korean brands, Elf, and Japanese skin care. SPF , tretinoin, tubing mascara, lip liner all over lips, skin tint ( Rimmel has a new launch for 13. & it rivals high end) rms bronzer / blush/ and bi phase oils,& peptide drug store moisturizer, are all I do for under 50. There are many dupes /for high end luxe, and cost can be lowered if I stick to products until they’re used up. Th Risa, for great tips, and a reminder to keep my skincare and makeup SIMPLE, otherwise I won’t do it every day ! ❤
