We love hands on activities but don’t do everything in any curriculum!!! I love how it connects to the kingdom of God!!! We’ve already learned stuff about the Middle Ages and i was thankful that we where able to learn from a Christian perspective!!! My kids now want to learn more so we probably will end up doing this unit!!! We went to a medieval museum recently and my kids had no idea of the Black Death and thought it was Covid many years ago before they read it!!! I don’t read my welcome letter but my kids read both of them as I give them a copy of the teachers guide so they can follow along and can refer back to them!!!

Thanks for the flip through. Does Gather Round’s Middle Ages start at the Fall of the Roman Empire? We are coming from Masterbooks Ancient and making sure will don’t leave out any history 😊.

Hi there! Thank you so much for this flip through! Question - if you are doing more than one Gather Round Unit at a time, would you suggest doing the seatwork journals for each? Or just pick one seatwork journal for your student to do?

I noticed in the teacher guide it had colored lines by certain paragraphs is there a reason why? We’ve only used year 1&2. Also I was wondering is gather round enough to use by itself. We’re currently doing it with another curriculum and we’re doing gather round as extra but I’d like to try to do it by it self.

The colored lines are in the Year 3 units. They added color coding so it made it easier to use with varying ages and abilities. We have always used it own it’s own as our core. I have always thought it was enough, but that really depends on your child.

Got a Q for you when you have a sec. When it comes to Gather Round, do you purchase the entire bundles, or do you purchase your Unit Studies individually?

I normally purchase them individually, but I did splurge and buy year 3 in print during their summer sale.

So how many pages is equivalent to what you do per day? My kids won’t sit for very long. Very, very short attention spans.
