you have to measure the subwoofer correctly. you always measure from rubber squat to rubber squat. Thus, the subwoofer measures only 120mm.

bass test why bother? The sound bar is a external TV speaker system. They are not Hi Fi speakers, they are small cheap injection molded plastic speakers, with a switch mode power supply, with some digital sound processing, class D power amplifier and a blue tooth radio receiver.

A small ball which my dog loves, ended up going through the hole at the front of the subwoofer. How can I get the front off to get access? There are no screws? It is the HT-CT180. Any help would be appreciated.

Lot of engineering, molding design and special shape drivers for the sound bar with a crappy subwoofer box !!

Well, with just 2 front facing drivers per channel with plastic basket on the midrange drivers, that is as cheap as soundboard go. That speaker he pulls from the bar is the same type one will find in their budget LCD TVs. Only subwoofer is properly made with a big magnet driver and ported wooden enclosure.

Dileesh VV the sub is pretty cheap too. Most sound bars are just glorified tv speakers. This looks like an entry level sound bar anyhow :)

ArtūrsM compared to standard tvs, however some of Sony’s higher end TVs have great inbuilt sound that beats most sound bars up to a few hundred dollars. I’d rather have clean sound over boomy bass from all those cheap box subs

The sound bar is a external TV speaker system, as if you recall a number of large flat screen TV do not have builtin speakers, or are of poor quality. They are not Hi Fi speakers, they are small cheap injection molded plastic speakers, with a switch mode power supply, with some digital sound processing, class D power amplifier and a blue tooth radio receiver. The sub woofer is also small and cheap and nasty, cheap V folder vinyl wrapped 12mm chipboard ported cabinet, with no bracing. The drivers are awful.

This looks just like my old HT-CT80. The soundbar was great but that sub was a joke! No sub bass at all! I replaced the Sony with Polk Signa S1 which only cost $50 more and OMG does it sound 100 times better!

just use any 20-20 000 Hz sweep tone video and listen, if they sound?

Sound is good, because use high sensitivity speakers, but in real world, them(soundbars) have very little power output at classD of course, and sound power are not much than simple 2.1 amplifier with TDA2030. even lower i gues.. the trick are sensivity at the drivers. if you look at power consumption you will see the truth. i never buy this systems. logitech x230 for example are much better than this sony. but price is much higher on sony model. only bennefit are conectivity, easy to integrate with you TV, and i don't see another bennefit.i'm not fans of logitech or another speakers , i prefer to make my self 2.1 or stereo amplifier., but logitech are better in special bass. I have right or not ?
